Hi All, As Brian (The TTR Oracle) is well aware, I got myself a 2004 TTR250 lately, well I say a TTR, what I actually purchased was an engine in a frame and an awful lot of parts! Anyway's, I digress, my question is this; When refitting the linkages and the swingarm, what is the easiest/correct order to d...
Went out on the TTR to see what was happening flood-wise in my area. There is a green lane (unsurfaced road) very near to me but its entrance was flooded and I decided not to venture further as I was on my tod. The road to our local railway station (where the line runs alongside the Exe Estuary) had a bit of f...

Hi Everyone. My name is Joshua and I just procured a new to me 04 TTR250 over the weekend. I've recently gotten into riding and have been borrowing an interesting bike from my father in law (1986 Honda ATC200S converted from a trike to a fat tire bike) and thought I should finally get my own ride. I did a lot...
New to the forum, new to a cherry 2003 TTR250, but I've been riding Yamaha dirt bikes since my first AT125 back in the 70s. Seems like the TTR is more common outside the US. I mainly ride/camp in the great basin area (NE Cal/E Oregon/NW Nev) and always looking for all-dirt enduro routes. So I'm looki...
I've been trying to find a clear answer on the whole throttle stop adjustment screw mod. Some say back it out or remove it completely. Others say that the carb opens up to its full potential regardless of backing out the screw. Any chance we can get to the bottom of this? I understand that removing it co...
A fellow locally, has a 1998 KLR250 that he's completely parting out. It's street legal. As I'm planning on making mine street legal, I'm wondering what I could get from this machine. I am getting the Tusk DS kit, but it doesn't include the speedo and front brake switch. So I'll definitely be grabbing t...

Hi all, New to the forum but not new to world of 2 wheeled madness. I've had my OE for about 18 months and it's mainly found roaming the vast expanses of Salisbury Plain (you need a snorkel for it these days) and surrounding areas. I used it for my first Lands End last year with my mate on his blue one and apart...
Oh my god, thank heavens for Brian. But damn that sprag. It always made the lightest of noises when switch the engine off. Then on a ride last week I jabbed the trusty electric start and heard a noise like a cam chain rattle. So I had the sense to do a bit of preventative maintenance, or so I thought Long up...
hi fellas I,ve been riding my ttr for over a year now and done many water crossings. then last time out i went through a river and it cut out. started again after a few tries so I carried on and didn't think much of it. I've been out today and every time I look at water it cuts out. the carb breathers are just t...
Hi all.......just wondering if anyone has any tips for removing the front sprocket on a 1998 OE ? I'm in the process of changing the existing 14 tooth front sprocket for one with 13 teeth. The sprocket retaining nut came off with no fuss at all (almost too easily!) but the sprocket seems reluctant to pu...
I really liked the chain tensioner setup on my old 02 WR250f. I now have a 2006 TTR250 and was wondering if the swing arms between the 2 machines are interchangeable. If they are, I would probably have better luck finding one from a YZ250f. I'm also planning on eventually installing a wrf/YZF front end....
Can anyone point me to a wiring diagram for a 1994 Raid. Trying to get it ready for an MOT but need to fit a horn and a brake light switch to the front brake. Have bought a hydraulic banjo switch as there are no wires or switch present on the bike. Also can someone tell me what the two wires I have loose behind th...
Hi everybody! I just joined the forum. I picked up my 2006 ttr250r a couple weeks ago and it's in excellent shape. Still has original tires on it. I'm going to be installing a tusk dual sport kit in the near future and doing the air box and pipe mods. I'm just wondering what the differences are between the...
had both my bikes out today ,no pics of the ride as i dont take my camera but heres a couple before i washed them at home ,(i dunked them in the river before i left as they were mostly mud !)
I have plans on getting my 06 TTR250R ( US/Canadian Enduro Model) street legal. I'm pretty sure that I'll be getting the Tusk Dual sport kit as it's easy on the wallet, and appearently, not too hard to install. My question is: would getting all stock TTR road legal stuff that would've came off a stock roa...
A few pics of some adventure rides with mates in New Zealand - we all have TTRs of course! (well OK, some pics of early trips do have a token Suzuki, but he saw the light and traded it for a TT250 - got sick of kick-starting his old bike in the middle of rivers, can't imagine why). These first three pics are up t...

Is this normal ? or has the wrong size fuel tap been fitted by the previous owner maybe ? if this is normal what size replacement fuel pipe shou...
I had a quick question, I'm installing a new chain and it comes with two different ways to put the master link together. With the O-Ring or Standard. Thanks in advance. -- Edited by woeppelm on Monday 3rd of February 2014 03:42:57 AM
Hey I have another question about my new bike Love every aspect of it except the turning. It's got a kouba lowering link in it. Suits me great height wise. Dropped rear by 50mm (I believe) It doesnt seem to turn as quick as my last bike. Assuming because the rear has been lowered. Is 25mm the max I can drop...
I need to replace the front brake hose on the project TTR250. New originals are about £80… There is a stiff plastic/PVC black sleeve over the brake hose that runs between plastic retainers on the fork leg. This wears and over time cracks and splits. I have about 10 units I have taken off breakers and all...
