Yamaha TT-R250

YMA is pleased to announce that the class leading TTR250 is now more affordable than ever at just $5999 RRP inc GST. In fact this legendary aircooled DOHC off road trail bike has never been this affordable since its introduction in 1993.

TTR250 is the choice for riders who prize real off road performance and light weight over the latest technical
bling. Plus the TTR250s legendary reliability is backed with a two year factory warranty.

The chart over the page indicates how the TTR250 shapes up against the latest competition in this category. The stats show that the TTR250 retains the title of class leader.

Enduro legend Geoff Ballard has owned TTR250s since 1999 and can’t get enough of the sweet handling and practical fourstroke. He even scooped a gold medal at the 1999 ISDE riding a TTR250 with minimal modifications. Another Yamaha legend, Stefan Merriman, won the 250cc fourstroke class of the Thumper Nats on a TTR250 too, so this model has genuine race pedigree.

The fourvalve twin cam engine produces a broad 33bhp that finds traction where more peaky powerplants find wheelspin. And its pushbutton electric start was the first to appear on a mainstream trail bike.

Now with a $5999 RRP (was $7299), the bullet proof TTR250 is set to soar up the sales charts.

TTR250 discontinued

Yamaha has discontinued the legendary TTR250.

We have done a massive buy up with Yamaha on these models so if you want an awesome price on one of these bikes before its too late, give Mark or Chris a call.

Once these sell out, its all over.

A real shame the TTR is no longer being sold but 1993 to 2012 isn't a bad run for any bike!

There is no doubt that the TTR has attained "classic" trail bike status and many owners are doing restorations, refurbishments and improvements to keep theirs on the road and looking good.

No shortage of spares and after-market accessories to maintain interest in these great bikes wink

I saw a new one in the dealership at Albion in Brisbane on Wednesday, a bit of a shame if it is discontinued.
I'm not sure how the sales of this model are going, but this is probably the reason for it being deleted.
I think the trend is for cheaper and cheaper bikes like the new Honda 250 trail, probably the TTR250 is
too expensive to build to compete with this type of bike.

I can't work out the thinking of bike companies, I was considering a DR650 Suzuki, but to make it a useful allround adventure type bike, you need a larger tank. Wouldn't you think Suzuki would respond to the market (like Kawasaki did with the KLR650) and fit a larger fuel tank. The development cost would be tiny and would make the DR650 much more desirable in this country. Sorry to mention a Suzuki on the TTR250 forum.

Wow I am surprized it's been dicontinued. My TTR handles the hard stuff way better than a mates Honda 250 Trail and I rode another mates brand new Husky 310 the other day and felt it was no where near as balanced and shorefooted as my old 99 TTR. I am in the process of buying an 04 TTR for someone as he hates all the computor crap on the new bikes.

The TTR is so reliable hopefully with proper maintainance they will just keep going and going........

It,s a pitty it's being discontiued... the TTR is by far the best of the old school bikes...
They preform far better than what there specs say they should..
For some reason they were not a good seller here "NZ" & they were only $8,200NZ....

the DR650 is the same..it works far better than the specs say it should.. the tank is prob it,s only
real short coming..

So far Yamaha has not gone down the compomise road as Honda have...
Honda NC700 platform can be bought as a scooter , road bike & ADV bike in manual or auto trans...

I will be keeping my TTR for a while...
