There are always so many questions about sprockets so i thought i'd make a list that we can all agree on (i think). This subject has so many variables like tire size ,snail position ect. to take into account but i think all info should be correct. I am prepared to be wrong if need be as it it a very complex sub...

I often speak to customers on the phone about the mysteries of chain fitting and remembered that I included a "show and tell" in the last project bike thread so I have started this new thread to make it easier to find. The chains I use (and sell) are Renthal R3 116 link ones so it needed to be shor...

Greeting All So I fitted my 13/52 gearing today and had a bit of a ride down the back firetrail this combo seems to work really well, I can go down to almost stopped, and move so slowly in first gear that it doesn't even register on the speedo I normally have my Idle set so the motor is just above stopping so yo...

Since building the 350 I'm loving it so much I don't want to stop riding it when my local lanes close over winter so I'm building some supermoto wheels on some hubs Steve at Totally kindly found for me Of course the smaller 17" wheel and lower profile tyre will already shorten my gearing slightly which is...

My 'new to me' TTR 350 arrived with a 14/48 sprocket combination. I am wondering if this is the best set up for me: mostly riding off the tarmac, but an annual trip abroad requires the bike to be able to do reasonable speeds on the tarmac. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Morning all, I was doing a bit of reading on the TTR gearing and checked what is currently fitted to the bike i've recently bought for comparison. It appears i have an 18 front and 57 rear sprocket which seems at odds with a lot of the discussion threads i've seen on the subject of gearing. I was wondering...

Just had a mate, Bob, pop around for a new chain and sprocket set. He keeps a careful record of all that he does to is white OE and the mileages when he replaces parts, services the TTR, etc. I was very surprised to learn that he got 6,039 miles or 9,720km (and we double checked it!) out of his last Renthal R3 c...

Morning all, I'm currently running with 14/44 sprockets on my Raid but when i bought it, it came with a Renthal 52 tooth sprocket and chain to go with it. Here's a pic of my 2011 TTR250. It's a great bike but just recently after completely destroying the sump bolt I found myself with a big dilemma. As you can see by the pics below I really butchered the sump bolt when trying to loosen it - basically it'...

I fitted a new chain and sprockets from the guys at Totally TTRs 6'ish months ago, fair bit of green landing done since. Chain seems to be wearing on something, any pointers please? The remaining links also show signs of wear, but not as bad as the link split pin.

I had the bike up on the stand yesterday and I put it in first gear to spray the chain lube on. While it was in gear I noticed that the chain was jumping at the front sprocket. Is the chain to stif or to lose maybe, or is this normal?

I bought this 2011 TTR250 with a meagre 800klms on the clock a few weeks back for a good price. It's still fitted with the stock factory tyres and sprockets (14/44) which I intend to change soon. I'm thinking for the style of riding I do which often involves very slow riding that I'd be best served by...

Hey guys, I work away at an evil place called olympic dam. However there is plenty of good riding up here - great red sand for miles. Hello guys, I just changed my 1996 raid from 14 44 to 13 48. The new power is great and all, but now the digital odometer is giving out false numbers (bigger than the real speed) due to new ratio. Is there any way to adjust it for my new ratio? Thanks.

Could the rear chain slider be lowered enough for this sprocket to fit a TTR.

One of the comments on the facebook page said they used the same internal gears on the 250 as in the 125 which this bike is.
