Original street gear from TTR250?

I have plans on getting my 06 TTR250R ( US/Canadian Enduro Model) street legal. I'm pretty sure that I'll be getting the Tusk Dual sport kit as it's easy on the wallet, and appearently, not too hard to install. My question is: would getting all stock TTR road legal stuff that would've came off a stock road legal model ttr be a good choice? Or would I also need the whole wiring harness? Also, would this be pretty expensive right from Yamaha? If it can be done with ease, do any of u guys have the original stuff for laying around that you'ld consider selling? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanx.

You don't actually need the wiring harness if you know what you are doing. I could show you how to wire all components up using just 15amp wire and a few connectors. You would need the switches and indicator relay, indicators,  rear brake light switch (hydraulic or lever activated), front hydraulic brake switch (if required) and numberplate light however. If you decide to use this method I will let you know more.

Otherwise, from looking at the US spec wiring diagram you would need the wiring harness. It would not be worth buying from Yamaha but you could find one second hand from AU or the UK for cheap enough if you keep looking.

I noticed that there is a brand new AU wiring harness for quite a good price of $150.00 AUD +postage- http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/genuine-yamaha-TT250R-wiring-harness-to-suit-1999-2011-4px-82590-20-ebaybox4-/320976416549?pt=AU_Motorcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4abbaf6f25

Brian also has one for sale here- http://www.totallyttrs.com/NOS/index#wiring

Maybe you would be better off just buying the Tusk lighting kit though?
