Hey everyone, Had a number of issues of the last few days. It all started when I was trail riding and I suddenly lost all power to the bike, checked fuse and was all good. Luckily was at the top of a mountain so tried to bump start it and while the motor would turn over, the second it ran out of momentum it wou...
Hi, My friend's TTR has bad noise coming from cold engine only. Please listen audio recording from 7s: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ar9YNbdz-p-shJpNFEbPR-5GBH0iBA We suspect automatic tensioner. The camshaft chain was changed last year. When engine is wormed the noise is gone.
The bite on my clutch is getting very close to the end of travel on the lever and i see the clutch arm on the engine end is sbout 20mm from the mark on the casing (its almost touching the bracket on the frame) Is it worth taking the side cover off to adjust the clutch or will this make no difference and will i be b...
My Raid digital speedo seems to have given up the ghost, are they possible to repair? Do we know a man(or woman) what does do fix them up ??? Thank, Brad
I have been having an intermediate issue with my speedo, my cable snapped and I brought an aftermarket cable and fitted it and it worked for an hour and stopped working. then I assumed that will be the problem so I bought a new Yamaha speedo cable fitted this and the same happened again it works for an hour...

I had are request from Joel in Australia for some ideas to sort out his after-market starter motor. When he pulled the body off his starter's armature, the magnets had come adrift of the body (unglued) and hence got caught up in the starter armature itself. This had been a bit of a problem for him over the...
The old tyre subject, I've been running MT21's on the WRR for a while & love them, well they are great on the WR. Been thinking of trying them on the TTR, as were off to the Victorian High country next month I have another new MT21 coming for the rear & as the rear on there has only done around 300kms b...
Hi troops Matthew here. I've just bought my first project bike and it's a 1993 TT250R OE (Pictures attached). A bit about me. I turned 40 in January and had a instant mid-life crisis (hence buying the bike and not even having a bike license). I live in South Wales, ex RAF and currently working for Britis...
I went to start the bike after some time of it just sitting there. pulled out the choke and it fired up and reved like mad. pushed in the choke and it died. Tried it again and twisted the throttle stop to slow it down. Now will not start at all. I have got the carb off but before I take it to pieces anything...

Now bikers can use bluetooth earphone with magnetic ear-tip and microphone for receiving calls. I'm using Soundpeats magnetic in-ear bluetooth earphone and this is the best earphone. Bikers must try this earphone! -- Edited by ashag on Monday 3rd of June 2019 10:49:56 AM

Use both my TTR250 and heavily modified XR250 in Thailand.. TTR far better on the road but XR lower and lighter on the trails (and it has a lot of mods) TTR has been much more reliable and easy to work on. TTR is like sitting down to Sunday Dinner while the XR is akin to stepping in to the ring for 3 rounds... de...
I finally found an article from Australasian Dirt Bike, i have been looking for this for a few years. This is one of the articles that made me want, get and build my own TTR250.
I wonder if someone can help me. I'm looking around for a used (or new) seat for a 2004 Blue TTR. Anyone interested in selling one that is not being used ? Not really fussed what condition it is in as I intend to have it cut and re-covered to make the seat height lower. Thanks all. Neil Northampton.
I do like my French jaunts so three days were recently spent in Normandy, conditions were spot on it having rained previously but the sun shining on us for the whole time. The river crossings were a bit touch and go and a few trees had to be persuaded to let us pass but thats just part of the appeal to me. For a...
I've done 2000ks on the ttr since the gearbox and engine rebuild and I can trust it again. Thank everyone for the encouragement I almost sent it off to the wreckers or sold it Goes well and back to getting away from it all . Did a few hours this morning
Hi all, newby to this forum from the Northampton area. Managed to find a relatively low mileage 2004 Blue and have had an enjoyable month or so tidying up and making it run right - mainly getting the carb sorted. Didn't realise until I bought the bike what a great resource there was here. Being 'short...
I recently picked up this 97 TTR 250. 5000k on the clock. Very neat condition. Never been registered. So I put all the rego stuff on it. Got a number plate for it very easily. Yay. Future mods planned when I find out if 'Blue' stuff is compatible as 'white' stuff. -Racetech or polisport headlight. Don'...
Kaos has sent me some quality scans of an ADB article from September 1996 of a shootout involving a big-bore TTR Apparently, Webby's supplied a 300cc "kit" back in the day and I would be really interested to know what the kit consisted of. Was it just a bigger piston/sleeve or was it a stroked crankshaf...
