Use both my TTR250 and heavily modified XR250 in Thailand..

TTR far better on the road but XR lower and lighter on the trails (and it has a lot of mods) TTR has been much more reliable and easy to work on.

TTR is like sitting down to Sunday Dinner while the XR is akin to stepping in to the ring for 3 rounds... depends on your mood that day I guess!

Nice bikes!

I suppose that is the difference between a trail bike and an MX bike?

Would love to go adventuring in thailand on a bike!

Come to Thailand, Like France, dirt bike riders welcome almost everywhere and some amazing trails all around. BUT - its really hot in all your gear, saps your energy so fast. Cheap hire of CRF250's everywhere.

XR has 280cc, Mikuni carb, FMF Q4 and hot cam, Hinson clutch, USD forks and Ohlins rear It's fun!

Thats a nicely setup on your XR280, my TTR is similar spec but stock cam/carb. At least for the moment!.

I notice your TTR is the Raid model? They are a fair bit heavier then the enduro models which feel closer in weight to the XR.

Yes feels heavier.. I have the metal tank but the headlight etc is now a plastic job. Feels wider and taller than the XR with more weight high up - that makes it a pain on the trails here as every one has tight technical sections and clay ruts that are often 6ft deep. Basically you are going to end up manhandling it at some point..
