32mm OKO powerjet carbs have been fitted by these guys:

www.ttr250.activeboard.com/t61885498/alternative-carbs-for-the-ttr250-32mm-carb/

I think you can make it run with a 30mm. Better for torque, but power is restricted by the smaller airflow. You need a lot of patience to fit a non-standard carb because the jets and needle settings will be unknown. If you can get a 32mm OKO you will have the benefit of the experience of these guys.

What has happened to your carb?

hi m8s..
my carb is the original with 20 years, was opened now for the first time, needs everything :(
as my financial condition at the moment is not at all favorable, I have to buy a cheap carburetor and the sprag clunch too...
sprag clunch 150 €
carburetor membrane 36 €
carburetor kit 40 €

almost 250 € ..

my budget does not let me pass the 50 € barrier, so it will have to be all from chino's.

Hi Mockadash

Before you put a chinese sprag clutch in your Japanese camel, please read this  https://ttr250.activeboard.com/t64076126/after-market-chinese-sprag-clutch/

I know you are on a budget, but you may end up in more trouble.

Why does the link not work??

I've fitted a Chinese PWK 34mm copy with a 'power jet' (vacuum driven) it came with a 135 main and a set of various size jets.  It was a straight replacement, fitting both the inlet and airbox rubber! had to change throttle twist to a single cable (from same web store)  whole job done in an hour.

My original carb (57,000 kms) was suffering the 'hunting' problem at cruise - despite vigorous cleaning and playing with needles, jets etc I could not cure it.  This PWK was good out of the box and performs well!  My bike is in Thailand so choke would never be needed hence I cant comment on cold weather performance, but it starts on a touch of the button and is smooth through the whole range.  Is super cheap - about £15 - but then delivery from China is free here.

I got mine on the link below - but you can find similar on ebay etc.

Picture of it fitted attached.

btw - I also have a Chinese starter motor - its been fine so far!

yes, that's the place! Don't ship any vehicles.. extortionate import duty and basically impossible to register for the road.
You can buy jap bikes here - but only the models made or officially imported by manufacturer are road legal. I would say the used prices are slightly higher than you would get at home..

You can buy TTR's here no problem, they come across the borders from Laos, Myanmar etc But no registration possible and you must get valid import duty papers or risk confiscation but it is highly unlikely you would be asked if just riding on trail or local roads. Main roads and cities have police checkpoints, often mobile.
Not sure what a TTR250 would cost in NZ but I see many unregistered ones at around 35,000 baht. Rust is never a problem but lack of care is...

 OK....

I'm buying there.....35,000 baht = $1468 NZ.... less than half what we pay here for a used TTR or any

250 duel sport...
