Ok I messed up! Somehow I managed to damage the thread in the float bowl for the drain screw. I must have put it in cross threaded. I the drain screw itself is damaged but more worryingly is the thread inside the bowl. Any suggestion what to do? Rob
Hi Anyone knows if a stator from a later model wold fit? IE the year 1999? Having problems finding av stator for my bike from 1994. Thanks Per Arne Bustnes Norway
Hi All I recently bought a TTR250 that was imported to Madagascar from Europe about 10 years ago. Before last week I knew nothing of TTR's. I noticed that mine has no indicator lights nor brackets to accommodate them. It does, however, have an indicator switch on the handlebar. I don't have any of the o...
Hi guys, Small problem with the compression damping clicker on the reservoir of the rear shock on my bike. It doesn't like to turn or click It rotates a few degrees either way but seems to be pretty stuck and I don't fancy forcing it. This is the closest picture I have of it currently, any ideas as to whats u...
Hi All, Im considering putting together supermoto kits to sell and was wondering how much interest there would be if I did. The kit would likely include some or all of the following: Wheels Front and rear wheels (second hand, but with new seals/bearings) Oversized front disc standard rear disc Cust...
I thought it might be interesting to post up some of the TTR nasties that I have come across so that worse case scenarios can be viewed. Please feel free to add your own. First off, how about this for a home-made timing chain tensioner? Or a delaminated standard case saver? Or a valve seat that fell out?...
What is this seal? Is it a seal? It's not shown on the Yamaha Parts Finder microfiche that I access on line. I forgot - 2002 TTR in Oz. The bolt behind drains the oil from the left side exhaust cam well.
I now have the V5 for the bike so I can continue full steam ahead with the project. I have attached a few jobs that I did today. I cleaned the carb in a parrafin bath then let the ultrasonic cleaner do it's magic. I think this is the best I will get it and I'm happy. I'm going to service the carb as the gaskets are...
Hi guys, the right tank decal is blistered, anyone had this, tried to work the air out but it keeps coming back, this bike is pretty tidy apart from this decal, checked with Yamaha & they want $586 for the pair of decals....no way I have ordered a set of Ballards decals for $60 but may put them away for a...
Hi Occasionally my TTR would make a clunk when you switched it off perhaps once in twenty times. Just recently this seems to be getting more frequent so much so that I have just come home from a Dales ride a day early as I didnt want to do any damage to the engine having just rebuilt the top end. I guess now it...
My 04 blue plastic tank has become completely non-gas (as in vapour, not as in American petrol!) proof, which I think is due to ethanol in fuel these days making the plastic go porous to gas, as detailed on other websites. The OE stickers bubbled off and new stickers soon followed. The tank is complet...
Hi - thanks for the add ! Just joined up as I have bought a TTR250 a couple of days ago - 2007 model. First job will be to change the tyres and reduce the height a bit as I am a bit short in the leg for this bike ! Member of the mid Wales TRF and normally ride old Yamaha XT500's, but have decided they are not up to the j...
Okay, a may be being stupid here but I'm having trouble getting the old link out. I have removed the rubber bungs and removed the 17" bolt but cannot get the bolt/sleeve to budge, the old link moves freely from side to side alright. Is there something I'm missing or doing wrong? Any help appreciated.
Hoping for some help...again 🙄.I have stripped the carb down to give a deep clean and found there is no baffle plate in the float end. Will this cause me issues and are they available to purchase? Also any idea when carb service kits will be back in stock? Thanks in advance Matthew
Hi, For sale, TTR250 Raid, its a 1994, white, really nice condition and seems to have had an easy life, (approx 19000 Km). It currently has a lowering link fitted, I have recently fitted new tyres, battery, chain and sprockets and I have just changed the oil and filter, air filter and spark plug. I ...

I'm looking to replace the bolts on my 1993 OE. Is there a quick guide to the bolt sizes anywhere? Also any advice on purchasing a bolt kit would be greatly appreciated.
The guy I purchased this off used the rack to ride from Mongolia to the UK. I used it from the UK to Nepal. It's made from tubular steel and was painted black, its scratched and seen some abuse but isn't too heavy. The racks the best I have seen out there and is very solid. It links around the back and triangu...
Hi there, I used the tank to ride UK to Nepal, worked perfectly. It was fitted to an oe with totally ttr kit. But will fit the bluey if you buy the kit from totally ttrs. The tanks taps work fine and has a locking cap, I'll include the original one too if any use. I found that the original oil cooler fouled t...

My wife and I are flying into Manchester on May 23rd (woo hoo a month away) and hiring a car, We have a rough plan to hire a car, head west across to Wales and roughly do the coast south back down into England. We have to be back in Lond...

Hey all, I was driving down the highway and my seat off my bike flew off (must of not been bolted) . I looked for it but no look so now I'm out a seat. Ive called around and the part is actually discontinued. I found one on but it was 450$? I'd construct a seat before paying that for one. Anyways now I'm in need of...
A couple of threads on here recently have reminded me that I meant to do a quick review of the 2 digital speedometers I have on my TTRs. My OE 325 had an engine transplant that didn't have a speedo drive on the output sprocket so I went for a Trail Tech Endurance II. This is the smallest of the Trail Techs - no i...

This is from a 2007-2011 WR 250 450. It will fit the TTR 250 the bolt holes line up. Just have to cable tie the bottom behind headlight. Its a neat job and you cant see the cable ties. This set up would cost you £££'s from yamaha. It inclues everything bulb the lot. Plug it in and away you go Brand new never use...
