Can anyone help me with my thought process please... I've taken the head/barrel off and refitted to cure an oil leak from the bottom of the barrel at the front. Now it's all back together it runs as rough under load as you like. Idle is fine, steady throttle is ok but not brilliant but acceleration is jerk...

I need to replace the two leaking o-rings, part number appears to be 5Y1-14397-00 but judging by the price of the genuine Yamaha part they must be made of gold. Hence does anyone know their size so that I can pick up some replacements from the local suppliers?

Ordered a new idle set screw from Yamaha. Lo and Behold, it is on national backorder, mine broke as I was attempting to adjust as this bike has sat in the elements to my suspicion, for quite some time. I'm going to pull the carb and drill out the original. Does anyone happen to know what pitch and thread si...
Ok, so I finally got my bike running. Upon the throttle sticking after running it a few times I decided to inspect it further. I pulled the carburetor and noticed a super sticky brown gunk on the slide and outlet portion of the carb. I cleaned the emulsifier and the carb, it seems like it is beginning to st...

Even though we have a bit of nice weather ahead, I am thinking about winter maintenance for the TTR which may include the top-end. The bike is now 10 years old, runs OK but I really don't know much about it's maintenance prior to my getting it 3 years ago. Seems like a valve job, timing chain, etc. certainl...
