Talking to a friend of mine the other day we discussed why the majority of bikes have cable operated clutches. He rides trials and his Montesa (Honda engine) has an hydraulic clutch and it is much lighter than a cable one even when we'll lubricated. Anyone any thoughts please?

8 years ago today we were up the Flinders ranges, I had my XR400, my wife was on her XT225 & my mate Dave on his TT250R. This turned out to be the last ride on the XR400 as my wife said to get a bike with electric start, hence I bought the TTR the day after we got back. Both the XR & XT got sold off.
