I purchased new in 2007. It has done 3900 miles and has recently had new tyres, chain and rear sprocket. It‘s been regularly serviced, and garaged when not in use. The bike is fully original with the addition of a CRD sump guard, B&B frame guards, Acerbis hand guards and has the Totally TTR decompr...
Got my 94 raid on the boat road after it’s been sitting for a few years but getting a bit of clutch slip, can get replacement pattern clutch plates for £20 or ebc heavy duty with updated springs for £45, is it worth the extra?
A mot question, was wondering if anyone had come across. Fork seals are generally covered by rubber gaitors and hidden, to inspect them the tester would have to release the clip to do this. Never had an issue but never known a tester to do this, looks like the seals are overlooked
I'v never had alocking fuel cap but had this delivered today, works well and decent quality. Ebay job. -- Edited by wobbly on Monday 29th of November 2021 05:38:57 PM
I managed to break my headlight on my 2006 250 ttr today. Does anyone know wher i can purchase one. I see that you can get halogen ones that are ment to fit, are they any good.
I’ve just joined the forum after buying a bike from a member on here, I’m hoping to do a few green lanes in the Dales, I also own a Fantic 500 Rally but that’s to nice & new to throw at the scenery.
I mainly use the TTR during winter but through the rest of the year I do the maintenance and take it on short rides to keep everything moving. But yesterday I switched the ignition on and everything acted like a flat battery ie dull lights engine would barely turn. Took the battery off and tested, all fin...
Hi, After much deliberation I decided a TTR was the best bet for me with its unique combination of attributes - 6th gear and leccy start in particular. Just spent a few days in Devon with a few other old gits trying to relive their youth - and in the company of a CRF450L, XR400 and DRZ400E, the TTR gave away l...
As seems to be the case when I am leading a trail ride, I find very little opportunity to take photos! Anyways up, here are a few from a trail ride with my brother in a very muddy East Devon. As we hadn't been out for quite a while (Trev reckoned 3 years for him!) we only did a morning's bimble - just over 2 hours...
Yesterday afternoon I noticed that one of the original frame welds had a stress fracture, resulting in almost total separation of the joint. Metal is a bit thin for an arc welder with 2.5mm electrode, but managed with a bit of skill on low current and just overdid the weld to make sure it was stronger th...
I am very pleased with my 02 street legal TTR250.....with one exception. The forks are way too soft. The front end dives when you touch the front brake. I was told to run 4psi and that is what I am running. Can I buy spacers to make the springs stiffer, or buy stiffer springs? Thanks!
Headed out to Stuarts Point north of Orange NSW Australia for the weekend. Some good rides - dirt roads, fire trials and a mate of a mates farm with homemade motocross track
I recently purchased a bike that someone had previously bent the valves. Valves were installed in the head but everything was in pieces. I have been putting Humpty back together but have a couple parts I have no idea where they go or if they even go to the bike. Please look at the image if I can figure ou...
Hey peeps Finally had time for a proper ride. I've been moving house for the last month or so. So I got Teknik in NSW Australia to sort the suspension on my TTR. They set everything up on their shock dyno to get the results they want. I guess this will be a bit subjective. However...... Went riding at Buc...
Sadly selling my TTR! Based in Bristol. £1500 ONO. MOT until February 2022. Regular servicing + MOTs. 1 previous owner, a trail riding school, so well maintained. Owned since 2013. Plastics are scuffed and bike is not shiny, as you would expect! Previously used for occasional trail riding/green la...
Good day fellow TTR's Just took ownership of a TTR 250 that has seen much better days. Bought as a non runner and after checking compression it was time to open the engine. Piston and rings are shot and there is some play on the connecting rod. Need to replace everything. Parts in SA are not readily av...
Hello TTR community. I pick up a 1999 TT-R 250 from the Netherlands Yesterday and hope / guess it will provide us a lot of fun over the next years I add a picture from the Shop, new pics will follow soon, we start to make her ready now to be street legal here in Germany. Looking forward to good hints in this gro...
Hi all!!! I’ve recently brought a TTR250 and i think its fair to say i love it!!! I don’t have any experience with doing my own servicing and maintenance and have a few questions if any of you can help? I have found a lot of things I was looking for in this forum and I must say it’s made me love my purchase of t...
I recently changed the engine gaskets on my 350. When I pull the clutch upshifting or downshifting and pulling the throttle again there is hesitation and once the engine died. I suspect some kind of crack at the carb inlet, oil breather. Any other place I should look? I believe air is getting in there wh...
My stolen ttr was recovered after 3 years absence. It's pretty trashed now but of course still running. Time to spend a bit of coin and bring her back to former glory plus plus :) I'm sure I will have plenty of questions along the way. Thanks in advance
Hi, i have just rebuilt my front and rear suspension with the help of Brian's excellent guides, refilling with Motul 5W oil on the fronts and TQF transmission for the rear shock. When checking the damping adjustment on the fronts, the valves at the bottom of the leg seem to have no effect on what is suppo...
DID Gold Rims. Both with brake disc attached.Rear 48T sprocket. Both have what look like new bearings/seals.Tyes have some tread not much.Rear has inner tube but front one removed.Comes with wheel spacers. Couple minor scratches but in good condition really.Bike came with 2 sets of wheels( thes...
Hi Guys, has anyone come across this problem, left my 94 Raid idling for 10 mins, coughed and backfired a bit, idle all over the place, then noticed smoke coming from under the side panel.Took the side panel off which was very hot, only to see the battery tray melting onto exhaust and battery beginning t...
Hey peeps So, a few years ago my TTR started leaking from the base gasket. I stripped the motor and replaced it, it started leaking again after around 4000klms or so. When pulling the original gasket off you could see it had a split or maybe had been pinched on install. I wasn't that happy with the prep I d...
For four months ran perfectly without any issue. Yesterday I noticed the base gasket leaking even though I had used blue hylomar for both gaskets. Any opinion is most welcome.
