Hi all. I am a proud owner of a 93 open enduro and I am loving it. I originally bought the bike for my wife to learn to ride on but it was too tall for her and she could not hold it up when she had to lean over to touch the ground. It then spent a few years in the shed without getting much use, I am a trials rider and d...
just looking round my sons ktm & found 18 teeth missing from rear sprocket & 1 missing front they all looked ok when i adjusted & lubricated the chain prior to him using it i have never seen so many teeth missing i have just removed the chain no tight spots must be a stone that caused it or has...

A friend (non ttr) and me are of to Ireland in the morning To go for 2 days of trail riding with a fellow ttr rider (comeragh) on this here forum, he has been kind enough to invite us out to the emerald shores, for some gaelic shenanigans. Some last minute fettling with the bike and she was good to go Loaded...
hi folks after waiting for a while to get (as top gear would say) a reasonably priced set of 22mm risers I fitted them with my reasonably new Renthal bars only to find on full left lock I am pulling the throttle cables and moving the carb....which is not good. So I pulled off the seat and tank only to find the...
Nothing unusual cropped up in this restoration so I haven't posted about it before. It's another frame-up rebuild starting with a shot blasted and powder coated frame. It's got a US silencer on it which has quite a deep throated note but is not offensively loud
The notorious stock Allen head bolts are known to be a PITA and strip easily. An excellent and easy replacement is the bolts that connect the fuel tank main bracket to the fuel tank (blue/plastic). They are exactly the same size, have a normal 8mm hex head, and have the same coating on them (phosphate?)...
I live in a really scenic area, 9 miles from my house is a place called Loch Doon, there is a nice drive/ride up from Stration up the forest drive and in to Loch Doon, 8 miles of forestry roads then on to proper tarmac through the Loch, only manage to take a few pictures today. For sale one Totally TTR's stainless steel rack complete with side rails. Used properly for an around the UK trip and it does everything you would want of it. I'd like £120 plus postage for it. Details of the rack can be found in this link and in fact shows it fitted to my bike! http://ttr250.activeboar...
Replacing fork seals is a relatively straightforward job but I had forgotten how messy it can be! No matter how carefully I drain the oil there always seems to be a residue that comes out to attack me I got a few pairs of forks that I am going to fit new seals to etc so that they can go into stock and I am think t...
My bike came fitted with hazard lights, the switch to turn them on and off had a fault and sometimes the lights came on due to road vibration and would refuse to go off, today on my way home this happened, quiet country roads so i just kept going, i had ordered a new left hand switchgear from Brian last month...
I thought I was being clever in moving my totallyttrs.com domain to a different account with my web host folk, 1&1, but have some unexpected results!!! I think the eShop and ttr250.com are working fine but any links that include totallyttrs.com may be broken If you experience any problems can y...

The question has often been asked if OE and Raid seats and tanks were swappable. Well, I had one of each models side by side in the garage today so thought I would try out a swap. This is an Open Enduro with a Raid tank and seat. You can see that it is quite a good fit despite the extra width of the Raid seat at the...
Hi, I have an issue with the indicator warning light which flashes on and off as soon as you turn the ignition off. it did this when I first picked up the bike even though it had no indicators, one of the previous owners had put insulating tape over it. It is a white OE model but I have replaced the switchg...
anybody looking for a lowered / scooped seat, I have one on mine that's in excellent condition and I'm after a stock one so a swap would be good, il get some pics up soon ....
OK - I am getting to the end of updating the FAQ and have come across this entry: When it all goes wrong! If anyone knows of a repair shop that has particular expertise with TTR engines please e-mail me with details. In the UK, the Yamaha Technical Hotline number is 01932 358 065 - very helpful apparent...
A simple question. If I open the engine, what more pieces should I change? Including all the gaskets. If somebody can make me a list and where I can find them, it would be good. I have forgotten for many time this problem in my TTR and probably I should not forget it forever.
