Risers pulling cables
Permalink

hi folks

after waiting for a while to get (as top gear would say) a reasonably priced set of 22mm risers I fitted them with my reasonably new Renthal bars only to find on full left lock I am pulling the throttle cables and moving the carb....which is not good.

So I pulled off the seat and tank only to find the cables are routed as economically as possible. Am I looking at new longer cables or is there a bit of magic somebody can conjur up?

thanks!

You can get some extra length on the throttle cables by turning the throttle body through 180 degrees and careful routing of the cables.

But at the end of the day, cables are a service item so need replacing at some point, which is where longer cables would be useful wink

If you just have a set of risers, and the renthals arn't high bars you should just get away with rotating the throttle grip body round so the cables go under the bars.

You guys are too cool for school! Brilliant, I had it in my tiny mind that the throttle was part of the switchgear so if I turned the throttle it would put the switches on the outside....I just had a look and you are right, that will solve my problem as I only need a few cm's.
Many thanks learned friends, I will put throttle cables on my endless list of 'pending procurements'
Cheers
