A nice ride along the old track from Kitries on the coast up to Doloi village......old Byzantine Church visible above......its dry weather here so I still haven't managed to assess the new Michelin T63s.....confidence inspiring on dry roads & so far very good off-road on rocks, gravel and dirt etc.......we do expect rain in March so am hoping to get the TTR dirty soon!
I know! Its a problem come the summer though as water reserves can then be low for visiting tourists without decent spring rain. Its affecting the local farmers of course who are exhausting their stocks of rainwater gathered in large stone cisterns....it means transporting water from the mains supply in tanks. The gardens I look after are bone dry so have had to turn back on multitudes of water timers about 6 weeks earlier than in previous years. There are masses of almond trees and irises flowering as compensation!

Hi Maniot, lovely landscape there, what part of the world are you in ?
Never mind, just saw greece
Being in Australia I can understand completely looking forward to a month of rain
We have had e quite a wet spring/summer here but the last month or so has been totally dry
Love the whole orange theme you have going there on the TTR
In thinking of going full black and white on mine
maybe I'll strip it and paint the frame black next summer
It's now coming into riding season for me, Autumn, Winter and Spring
Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve!.....yep, Greece....right down in Mani south of Kalamata......and am happy (!) to report we have now had some decent rain! More to come with storms! You will well appreciate the need for rain where you are! We have even had wild fires here which is rare for February! Where are you in Australia? Orange....yep, Ive always liked the colour and toyed with a KTM when I was looking for an off roader but couldn't run to it so picked up a restored 98 OE from a seller in Athens.....just finished off his orange project and it looks pretty good! Not for everyone though I know! Enjoy your riding season!

Well, the rain has well and truly arrived ....complete with lightening & hailstones! The following photos were taken yesterday as the clouds were forming! Have ordered some new black fork gaiters from Brian so will be able to protect the seals from the anticipated muddy aftermath!
I come from the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, so lots of trail riding here, fire trails, tracks, singles, quite rocky and sandy, very little clay here
See you ordered some gaiters from Brian, got some myself a while ago, they seem good so far, no cracks or tears, use some big cable ties on the top if you don't have the original clamps, mine hold well with the ties
Forgot to ask about your seat, that looks comfy, did you make it yourself ? I'm going to try my hand at a seat build in a week or so with some seat vinyl I'm getting next week So wish me luck with the school of YouTube
One more thing, You used Krylon paints for the plastics ? Fusion for plastic ? did you use the Superbond primer at all ?
Here's a couple of mine, I call it the "Blue Roughie" Internally excellent, externally, well the name says it all I think.
Really nice bike Steve! Sounds similar riding as here.....probably more off-road opportunities by the sound of it though! Beautiful scenery in the Blue Mountains.....had a look via your link. Thanks for the gaiter tips.....was thinking about cable ties being the thing to secure! I had the seat re-padded and covered in town....was about 50 GBP all told......the previous owner was shorter than me (if such a thing is possible!) and had the seat customise with a lower front area.....I really didn't like this at all! Good thing however was that it had been covered in a black & orange design which I liked .....I wanted to reproduce this when I had the seat raised some 50mm but they couldn't manage it so settled for just black. Its much better now and feels more 'the part'....cant assist with the paint query alas....will look back at the previous owners blog on the restoration etc .....its in Greek but might be able to translate it! Go -Pro's nice.....I had one bought me for a recent birthday .....think I posted a short ride on the forum somewhere! ( https://vimeo.com/151890657) I've found the 13T front sprocket is ideal for the riding I do.....standard rear sprocket ....
