I use an old road bike waterproof (ish) jacket and trousers with the armour removed. MadMax type armour top, knee protectors, and more recently, some Knox hip protection. I started with an old helmet but now use a Spada as it has a visor and sun visor. I don't get on with goggles so I use safety specs. Shot X10 boots with waterproof socks. Old road winter gloves in the winter, some lightweight ones most of the year with knuckle protection. Initially I just used old road gear.

I just use road textile jacket, road gloves, sturdy boots, kneepads, mx lid.

My advice is buy a cheap ish textile suit, not too expensive as the brambles on the lanes will just rough it up over time.

If you don't like rain or cold hitting through into your lid don't buy a mx one, get an adventure one instead, needs a peak though really as is good for keeping brush from your visor/face.

I use W2 boots. Textile trousers. Soft body armour. Mx shirt and unlined textile jacket. Adventure type helmet and safety specs (I don't get on with goggles) and mx style gloves. Find anything thicker for gloves makes me hold too tight and causes cramp..

I have a cheap enduro jacket and wear a armoured shirt under it and a cheap waterproof jacket over the top if it looks like rain. As for trouser i use some cheap textiles with army goretex overtrousers and knee armour.
The army gortex trousers are great and ony cost £20 ish.
