Recently purchased a TTR250, almost new, with very low kms. Replacement for my old 84 XT250.
Enjoying single track adventures and exploring the bush and occassionally a beer or bundy rum.
Looks like a great forum all.

Kurt.

Just a quick hello to pop my post cherry. Just swapped my VT Commodore for an 06 TTR250. Since work gave me a company ute the Commy was being badly neglected. I picked my engine stand up from the powder coaters today and it's looking good. Made from a redundant frame and some box profile it will make working on engines out of the frame a lot easier Just need a couple of lengths of rod to slot in to the engine bolt locations to hold the engine and I will be away!
After an afternoon visit to Mr TTR I have obtained a present for my TTR. The gearbox sprocket currently on my bike (13 teeth) has finally succombed to "hookitis" and is nearing its limit of usefulness. I didn't want it replaced with a similar sized sprocket since I'm always advocating that...

Hi chaps, Is anyone familiar with brazing fuel tanks? I'm going to attempt this on my OE tank, as I wanted something a little more permanent than an adhesive filler. Apart from the obvious 'make sure there is no explosive residue' are there any important steps to follow? I didn't want to weld the tank at...
I have a 1993 TTR250 OE, has all the normal things done but i would like a bit more noise as i ride mainly in traffic at the moment.
Is there any information on baffle modification in the standard muffler, to get a bit more thump out of the old beast.
Pretty much all of the powder coat has chipped off my outer engine casings, and was wondering if this could be a symptom of something more serious, like overheating or fatigue? If I cleaned and polished up the alloy would it be durable enough for the vigors of offroading, or am I going to need to paint/po...
