Hi All. Im lucky enough to have bought a 98 blue TTr 250 after quite a few years of riding Wr 450, KTm 200, kdx 200, drz 400 and absolutly love it, I live in West sussex, not sure if there any other TTR enthusiasts near me but would love to have a ride out if there is. The sun is shining and the lanes are calling................ Since the declaration of a drought in the West Country it seems to have been persistenyly raining! Today's sunny respite gave an excuse to explore the drought damaged lanes near where I live. One of the most used of Devon's lanes is showing...
Hi All, Been contemplating getting a TTR for years and took the plunge last week. Came across this website with its wealth of info, promptly bought some parts from Brian and here i am. cheers
Hi All Before I start stripping bits off the bike I thought I would ask As the title suggests it's running a bit rough in the bottom of the rev range No problem starting, stopping, no backfires or starving, it's all good, just a bit rough I figured just strip the carb and give it a clean out and maybe reset th...
Hi everyone I'm Steve from Adelaide, South Australia. Originally from Bristol, UK. A fantastic forum for ttr information. Had my bike for about 8 months and love it. Hadn't ridden a bike for 27 years and due to my son-in-law decided to have a go at off road riding. 2 broken bones, bent handlebars, an...
My speedometer magnet and pickup where stolen from my bike. Yamaha in greece wants about 250 euros for a new kit, and because of our stupid politicians and their great ideas for economic i am not able to buy them Can i find used one or anything else to replase them? Any ideas are welcome. Please forg...
We have had some quite severe flooding in Devon and Somerset over the last couple of days. I had a break at lunchtime and went for a ride to see what things were like and to take a few pics. The waters have subsided considerably so I have missed the worst of it but there is still quite a lot of residual standin...
Hello All, Just signed up to the forum so thought I'd say hello. I have been into bikes for approx 35yrs and am fancying a TTR for a bit of trail riding and as a daily hack for work (it will allow me to take a few short cuts!). The TTR appeals to me as it's electric start and appears to be faily gentle and light...

Hi, I've seen some scary looking stuff posted on some other forums of LARGE bits of engine caught in sump screens which made me wonder if TTR even have one, in addition to the filter? Did the requisite oil/filter change when I got the bike but you never know how it may have been looked after. Happy Holida...
Has anyone used aftermarket front fork boots. Like the ones on ebay. fittment issues ??. Are they any good or best to stick with genuine nuless they are over priced..
I've just completed a gearbox upgrade on my TTR. Although I enjoy using all six of the standard gears I found the choice of ratios a tad limiting. To make riding more interesting I looked into the possibility of a gearbox upgrade. I think my choice is quite an accomplishment. Afte...
Had a search but can't find the answer. What size fuse should be in a Raid? It has 20A in the holder but the spare is a 15A? Also the afermarket headlamp wires have fused themselves together. If anyone has a yam raid headlamp for sale let me know. Cheers Spud.
My 93 TTR has always been able to start on the button whilst in gear. Then last week I decided as a bit of routine maintenance to spray wd40 in every electrical connector I could find. Now the bike only starts if you put it into neutral. What is the norm on these bikes? I've either unwittingly repaired i...
I've just dared to venture out this afternoon following what seems like weeks of rain and floods. The lanes have changed dramatically in the interim, so beware. What were comparatively easy, pleasing trails are now flooded, sludgy, grooved, stepped and holed in the extreme. If anyone isn't carefu...
only happens when bike is idling for long periods but some times only happened 2 twice that it has backfired through carb once it cut and started straight back up and other day it did it after it be raining heavenly and heared a pop on airbox while riding didn't cut just a slight hesitation, not sure what i...
After Nic's please for pics to show how the TTR goes back together, I thought it might be useful to share some pics of a dead standard bike. I have printed and laminated a couple of these and keep them in the garage to help with rebuilds. I will add more pics as I find them. Brian
2006 TTR250.. Approx 10,000 k's.. This thing sat for a long time after blowing a clutch.. Finally got it started and huge amounts of white smoke came out of it. Mind you it had been cranked alot and about half a can of Start You Bastard in the carby.. Anyway it now starts 1st or 2nd go with kick and nearly eve...
Hi All... My name is Marty and I live in Brisbane Australia.. Have not been back on a bike for about 22 years. Was back when there were places to ride locally.. Always liked the TTR's all the way from the late 80's.. Was looking for a bit of a project and picked up a 2006 TTR250 that has spent all it's life as a t...
