TTR Plastic tank change

Hi All.

Im lucky enough to have bought a 98 blue TTr 250 after quite a few  years of riding Wr 450, KTm 200, kdx 200, drz 400 and absolutly love it, I live in West sussex, not sure if there any other TTR enthusiasts near me but would love to have a ride out if there is.

I would like to change my metal tank to the blue plastic one on the newer models, is that possible? and were would I get one?

many thanks.

Sean.

Hi Sean and welcome to the forum!

I recently completed a "modernisation" project which took a beaten up metal-tanked Open Enduro:

and updated it with a blue plastic tank and panels:

/download.spark?ID=1184893&aBID=139305

Before powder coating the frame, I welded on mounts for the plastic tank as below:

Full story here

The plastic tanks don't come up for sale very often. Most of the ones I get hold of go to Australia or New Zealand where the TTR owners seem to delight in attacking trees with their bikes ashamed

That said, I do have one spare at the moment. Drop an email to sales@totallyttrs.com if you are interested wink

An alternative and simpler way of mounting a plastic tank on an OE frame:
