I have had one of those days where I have made a catalogue of apprentice errors on an engine rebuild making a few hours work take a whole day a) dropped a gudgeon pin circlip into the sump whilst fitting a new piston. The first time since I remember that I didn't stuff a rag under the piston to prevent such a...
Hey all, This may be one for Brian or someone that has larger than standard jets installed. My question is as the topic suggests.....on a blue plastic tanked model TTR, does your breather breath properly as mine does not seem to even though i have made sure it is right. Yes i have taken the three sc...
Hi, I just joined the TTR 'world'. I've previously only owned an Yamaha once (S10 - XTZ750). Just bought (last week) an 1993-4 TT250R OE in pretty bad condition and I started repairs before I can hardly test ride the machine. I hope with your help I'll able to restore and repair this TTR in no time (alrea...

I've been seeing some lightweight custom builds out there on the internet & wondered what the engine/trans of our TTRs weighed in at, so I thought I'd ask if anyone knows? I've also wondered about the greater weight of the TTR vs. the YZ or WR seeing as how they have the whole water-cooled system tha...
Someone pointed me to this site from the Thumpertalk forum. New TTR250 owner, just bought a 2002 last Saturday and getting it in order. I'll make my way around the site to find the answers to some questions that the owner's manual didn't cover too well. Looking forward to some fun times on this bike... I...
Hullo all. I'm now in my ninth year of TTR250 ownership. My poor old bike has 64,000km on the clock, but has really covered about 67k and about 4,000hrs. This is due to the fact that it is a bike used almost solely for work in the far north pastoral area of my state. My bike is by no means a high-mileage exam...
Having had to go to the main Royal Mail sorting office (and pay the robbing barstewards oodles of Customs and handling charges ) this morning to collect a parcel and I now have 8 of these little beauties in stock from the States and ready to sell - see here Email sales@totallyttrs.com if you need one B...

I had a question about fitting new friction plates and the easiset way to answer it was to do a pictorial guide. I had to plagiarise an existing guide and use library pics as I am not due to renew any clutch plates soon so it might be missing bits. I would welcome experienced owners to have a look at the guide...
I had an email from Sean Perkins who has just fitted a few farkles (see PS) to his TTR inc. a blue plastic tank we sourced for him. Here is his email and pics. I think the tank suits the OE very well! The tank bracket was a simple bit of steel bent to the right width for the tank mounts that came off a TTR that I bro...

Hello everyone, This topic will be a little controversial but i'm hoping everyone can help. I am interested in getting to the bottom of how some people can be running jets as small as #137 main jet & #48 pilot. I have never been able to understand this fully. For example:...
Did any forum member buy a set of these decals and can post up pics (preferably!) or report back on the quality please? 3 sets were sold apparently. Brian PS I asked the seller (Daz) for a pic of the decal set and he sent me the pic below. Just doesn't look right to me!
I have a 05 ttr 250, it seems to be using far too much fuel hitting reserve at between 60 and 70 miles, it dies horribly at about 65mph in sixth gear as well, symptoms are very much like its running out of fuel at high speed although i think it may be a case of too much fuel is going into the cylinder. Other than...
Hello to all you TT-R250 & TTR-250 (for the older models) fans out there I kinda figured we have some geeks on this site that we all could learn from. I am no computer teq but i do know the basics. Where i need help is for example: Converting xps files to jpeg. What program do you use (if your a bit geeky)...

I didn't realise until I checked back that I haven't been on a trail ride in over 2 months It has been even longer for my bro' Trev so a plan was hatched that we would spend a day fettling and servicing the TTRs and then, if everything fell into place - particularly the weather - we would take the bikes out fo...
Hi, The pictures below show the bolt that has broken. Has anybody seen this before and what is the best way to fix it? I was putting on my new disk that I just got from Brian and I snapped of the bolt. I have gave my torque wrench to my Dad and was to eager. Thank you, [IMG]https://i996.photobucket.com/alb...
Hi All, The engine has been coming along nicely this weekend until I set up the cam timing. Firstly on the automatic tensioner someone has put a blob of weld on - any ideas? After setting the timing I was turning the engine over on the flywheel nut, turning the engine over forwards ( so anti-clockwise) f...
