I just joined the TTR 'world'. I've previously only owned an Yamaha once (S10 - XTZ750).
Just bought (last week) an 1993-4 TT250R OE in pretty bad condition and I started repairs before I can hardly test ride the machine.
I hope with your help I'll able to restore and repair this TTR in no time (already ordered most of the suspension/swingarm bearing kits - Thanks Brian)!
I'm based in Sofia,Bulgaria and I've been riding bikes for over 20years now. Recent years were only supersports/trackdays.
So now I would like to get my hands (and not only) dirty and do some offroad/trail riding.
Cheers,
Alexo

Thanks Jarrah I might start right away with some questions :) (need to find the proper boards)
No problems & if your having trouble just click on the home page eg homepage & find the =section that suits best. Most likely the repairs & maintenance section.
not exactly seen on the picture but my biggest concern is now the swingarm itself. The chain slider is almost missing at the end and the chain have damaged the swingarm.
Half of the cap is missing and the scars are quite deep, just where the bearing sits.
I'm afraid it may got deformed once I try to replace the bearings. Strangly on this side the bearing looks better than the oposite one, where the bearing casing has almost vanished.
Cheers.

It is quite common for the aluminium swing arm to be damaged by the chain when theslider has worn through.
The pics below show how bad it can get but, even then, the situation is recoverable using Chemical Metal or its equivalent as the last two pictures show

If I'd seen this last night I would've slept tight (ignore my grammar)
Mine doesn't look as bad as above, taken with my mobile late last night:
