Hello fellow TTR riders, After fitting the main nozzle from an old 4GY 1994 model I thought it was only ''fitting'' to take it for a test run. Let me tell you- doing this has made the performance much better and the O-ring fitted makes it a lot ''smoother''. Here is a vid of the test run... [video=http://...
Today I went out for a ride with Steve and Rob………… Steve on his OE and Rob on the Serow equipped with a tow rope and hells angel rear Maltese cross as a rear light. Back home now - great company, great weather, and very nice pasties/ice creams/pot of tea and carrot cake Rode 43 "green lanes". Only covered 49 miles in 6 hours. I must confess the snack stops did take up a bit of time Ride report to follow on this thread! Brian
This would have been asked before I guess but here goes. What engine oil seems to work in the TTR ? I had been using a racing 4T (maxima) oil in the XR & never had a problem, been thinking about a semi Syn oil 10w 40, I'm using the same in my Triumph's but they ask for a semi syn oil so I'm using 10w 40 Maxima. ...

Some times when I turn the ignition on and press the starter button nothing happens except a clicking noise, which I presume is the solanoid throw in, if I put in gear and turn the engine over pull in the clutch and press the botton it fires up, It doesent do it all the time, ut too often for my liking.
Can't believe Yamaha dealers. I have dismantled my carburetor after years of not riding the bike. The o-ring on the main nozzle was deteriorated and fell apart in my hand. So off to the local Yamaha dealer to get an o-ring ( nozzle is fine just needs a soak to clean up ) Dealer informs me that you can not j...
My 2010 TTR250 lives in the Philippines and I fly there from New Zealand every holidays. My brother who lives there also owns an identical bike and we do a lot of trail riding and long distance riding. Returning to NZ last year I had left my bike in storage. Unfortunately a flash flood occurred in Febru...
Hello fellow TTR250 owners, greetings from Australia! I thought I would do a quick update on my TTR for those interested (if anyone is lol). It has now done over 1600 KM had 5 oil changes and is fully run in. All adjustments are out of the way and the mods I have done have OBVIOUSLY made a huge improvemen...
Hi, I would like know if anybody have found a solution for fix all the mud entering the front sprocket cover. My TTR250 has not digital speedometer and for me, it is the worse bad feature from the TTR. The mud enter around the front sprocket and it can break the chain easily, it has happened to me two times...
After riding old 2 strokes when I was young, I decided I wanted to get back into it and do some riding with my kids. I had a '79 Suzuki PE250 and later an '81 PE250. They are a bit hard to ride in a tame fashion with kids who are learning. Also, white knuckle riding with the kids is not a good idea. I had started...
Took my first ride of any length yesterday, around 45 miles, nearly all dirt & probably a third of that, fairly rough woods trails. I was also able to implement a few things I learned of here on the forum & that definitely made things more enjoyable. I have added a skid plate, so I didn't worry abo...

Hi all. The lower oil filter cover bolt was always a bit hard to turn since I got the bike. I figured something was fishy with it and always was careful not to overtighten it, but this last o...

Anyone been able to source a torque wrench adapter to use on the 13mm nuts on the side of the TTR cylinder head please? I bought one of these but it actually has 12mm and 14mm ends and not 12mm and 13mm as it says in the heading As an alternative would it be possible to fit a 12m or 14mm nut in place of the origin...
Fairly new to TTR forum, and just wondered what the main differences are between the 3 models. I gather the raid has a larger petrol tank, but other than that, what else is there? Thanks
I put up an earlier post 'TTR running a bit rough'. I brought my 07 Black rimmed TTR with 3k on the clock last March, but it really ran rough but the engine sounded ok. I stripped the carb and cleaned/ retuned it plus new plug and vac out the plug hole and clean the cylinder plug seat as the engine was missin...
