Hi guys, New to the form . I'm new to the off-roading world and i'm looking for my first bike! I'm falling in love with the TTR series. I'm looking for a fun bike, Good MPG's, Just for long distance trail riding nothing hardcore. The TTR 250 seems to be perfect for me. I heard they can get around 70-80 MPG, Sounds great but is that true? Also I'm 6'1-ish 250lb, I'm afraid i'm too heavy for the TTR-250, I read online the weight limit is 190lb . Anyways I think the TTR is the best bang for your buck. As long as i'm not too heavy you'll have a hardcore TTR fan right here .

I am the same weight as you. I think if you are really "trail riding nothing hardcore" then you will be fine. I jump mine a little and seem to manage fine. If you are new to off-roading and on your first dirtbike, you will love the TTR (I see you MAY already love it). I hope you ride it for a bit before you spend the $$$ on a lowering kit. The mileage will vary so much off road, you may end up with 30MPG if you have a lead wrist. Don't forget that tires spin more offroad, and so the actual mileage will not always be right on if you are into what most of us do in the dirt!.
I feel the TTR has enough power to go most anywhere, without the 2stroke mess and whiskey-throttle. For a beginner, the 4stroke's power is easier to manage. You should be happy with a TTR-in-the-rocks.
