Recently I have had a new starter motor and idler gear fitted sometimes when I switch engine off there is a clunk is this normal ??? it does not do it every time I have a ttr250 endure.
Ok, so the bike seems to be running really good. Nice throttle response and great power distribution from bottom to top. Looking at the spark plug, it looks grossly lean. I check the float height as follows: put a clear hose on the carb drain. Opened it up. Set the bike up level. Fuel filled up to as far as t...
NO LONGER For sale the engine from my '93 Open Enduro. Excellent runner. Recent head rebuild (valves recut etc, this was part of a refurbishment, not a breakdown), new rings and glazebusted bore. New starter sprag clutch approx. 1000 miles ago. Only downside is one of the cam caps has a piece broken o...

Hello all, hope you're all enjoying the forum as much as me. Anyway, I installed the 54/150 jets that I bought from Brian (he ordered them) and thought I would let people know how it went. I have not taken it for a spin yet as I have a flat tire (the first one since owning it) but it sounds great in Neutral. Hav...
Was checking my spark plug just as a follow up. While I was threading it back in, I noticed 2 little holes in the cylinder head right on the back side of where the spark sits. They look like a couple slices about 1cm long each. One on the I take side, the other on the exhaust side. No oil was around them, so I'm s...
I had some time last saturday. I decided to go to ride and did some foto specially for site. It took me about 5 hours. The weather was very hot. The temperature was about 35 degree. I started at 9.30 a.m. and went to the mountains. I decided to go on the top of the mountain and riding on the top. Riding at the t...
Good runner and reliable electric starter. I have had it since the spring and successfully completed a few green lanes, but I now want to get something newer. The previous owner owned it for several years and used it mainly for commuting. So it hasn't had a hard life. The main bits of the bike are fine but...
I just got my new used 2003 TTR 250 and had it out in the dirt. Overall the gearing seemd pretty good but I was wondering what it would be like with a 12 tooth up front. I have the stock gearing which I think is 13/52 or so it says in my owners manual. I am really only going to use it on the trails. Any feedback app...
Can anybody please tell me if the tab washer in the speedo drive of the blue 04's should be flat. My speedo's not working and the problem is in the drive somewhere. The tab washer's seem to face uphill. The three of them. Many thanks.

Hi All Just got a new camera last weekend An Olympus OMD E-M10 It has a 12-50mm lens on it ATM (that's the equivalent of a 24-100mm on a Full Frame SLR) Here's a picture of the camera and a few pics I took today of a place called Lincoln's Rock all at 12mm, these are low res of course, the high res are amazing ...
Just thought i'd upload a few pics of the ''special'' tools that i made. It was pretty simple & cost me nothing. I have already used the clutch boss remover & it works great. Had to do little revision with the clutch holding tool. The reason for this is that i was worried it would snap the clutc...
Hello all you TTR250 fans out there, Just thought i would show my appreciation to Brian & Trish for the magnetic sump plug & Gaiters that i recieved today. I ordered them last week & only 6 working days to deliver from England to A...
I just had a couple of photos emailed to me by Robin Webb of his TTR325 up on the snow line in the Pyrenees last week and, with his permission, I am sharing them Brian
I guess this is not a new topic but any suggestions would be appreciated. I stripped the caliper off on Sunday the piston moves ok, I cleaned everything and put it back together but it is still sticking. I noticed the pins that hold the pads were corroded a bit, not sure if this is the cause though. Cheers...
I'm guessing this could be a contributer on why my bike is running poorly. I found a break in my air box boot. Well, it's at the top, right where the little bottle thingy attaches to it. Is this removable? Or do I need to find the entire boot? Maybe I can get away with siliconing around it? It's splitting awa...
These caps are often missing. They do offer a degree of protection so are worth fitting even if just for the aesthetics. £4.80 each plus p&p See here I bought some in after having a couple of requests from customers. Brian
