I'm wondering if there's such a thing as an aftermarket fuel metering screw with a long shank on it to fit a TTR250. I can easily purchase one for my WR250f as it has a name brand carb. But what about the ttr? If so, do any of u guys know of a part number for one? Thanx.
Had anyone ever tried to create a navigation tower for the TTR to hold a few more instruments, GPS, roadbook etc? I quite like the idea of getting my nav computer and a roadbook mounted in a better way than cluttering up the handlebars and obstructing the speedo and idiot lights. Could also take the op...

I bought the older model, which wasn't, back in may this year and had to send it back for a refund. I know they will fit on the handle bars because I trie...

Just last month I parted with my beloved TTR 125 for a 250. Its battered and bruised but certainly not broken. I'm thrilled to begin the overhaul, unfortunetly money is an issue at the moment but I've already begun digging into it and cleaning it up. I'll be starting my rebuild thread later tonight and p...

I have been toying with the idea of having a genuine Yamaha suspension link made longer instead of buying an aftermarket part. the questions are 1. can it be done safely. 2. how can it be done. 3. how much would it cost. 4. who could modify it competently. 5. would it ever fail in use. 6. how much longer...
Oops. Nice weekend away riding, managed to find a huge rock in the grass after jumping up a bank. Hit the gear lever with it and turned that in to the letter Z and bent the gear shaft as well. Enough to leak oil. Gears all select ok and runs fine. Its got a fair bend in it. Had a crack at re-bending the shaft wi...
My TTR runs sweet but i'm unsure if it should run a bit more crisp at lower revs, it could be normal for all i know and i'm happy with the way it runs. Saying this i think i'll give the carb another clean and check within the next few weeks. While searching for carb info i found this, i had to use google transla...

I have been offered a cheap set of Continental TKC80 Twinduro tyres but the rear tyre size is 140/80 18. The Twinduro is a on/off road orientated tyre and might be useful for mixed road/trail riding. Does anyone know if this tyre will fit? I am using Michelin AC10 with a 110/100 R18 which is smaller i...

Hi, I've only had my TTR a couple of weeks, it came with no indicators but 3 fat manuals. I have some second-hand winkers on the way, and I have found the wiring connectors for them, but, on looking I can't find the flasher relay, nor any unexplained "orphan" loom connections, and none of the manuals ackn...
Four days into a trip of trail and dirt road riding my TTR went from sounding a little bit off to frighteningly loud knocking sounds from somewhere low in the engine. Now that summer is winding down I have had some time to pull the engine and start to tear it down. There was a lot more glitter in the oil than...

Hi, its a bit of a unusual request. but its been a bit serious issue over here. i have to say im not sure if this approach will work. still its worth a shot right so long story short, sri lankan govenment has brought up a rule saying that riders cant wear full face helmets "from eyes to chin must be vis...
FYI, Just a heads up, I installed a the New FMF Q4 pipe yesterday on my 2003 US model TTR250. ( No restrictor in the header pipe). I bought the bike from a 70 year old guy and as far as I can tell the engine was completely stock. Had lots of additional nice goodies on it. The only thing I did a few months ag...
Anyone know the thread size of the bolts that hold the r/h footpeg bracket to the frame ? They forgot to mask these threads when powder coating and iv'e only got the bolts half way in.
