Anything missed?
Brian
Brian, you said (and I (re-)quote) "Anything missed?"....
there certainly is something, and it goes right to the heart of the matter of life, the universe and everything.
This shows that less than 3% of the energy flow to a traditional incandescent bulb/globe (of the Edison variety that appears to be addressed in your post) is radiated as visible LIGHT. Therefore it is an egregious misnomer to refer to the device as a "light" bulb (or globe, if anyone must). A tiny proportion of UV is emitted, but the vast proportion is infra-red, otherwise known as HEAT.
So, to clarify this matter, I have quoted your post in its entirety above, with the glaring error highlighted in red and re-quoted it below with the appropriate changes as required to conform with reality.
Heat globes in common use should indeed be changed, but NOT to another similar heat globe but something cooler, like a skylight or perhaps an LED lamp. HOWEVER, such heat lamps could well be used for keeping chickens or ducklings warm, or similar appropriate use.
Regarding "light globe" vs "light bulb", google ngrams indicate that the latter vastly outweighs the former in book usage in the last century. However a comparison of google search counts for "light bulb" vs "light globe" with the same phrase pair limited by " site:.au" does indeed appear to indicate that the use of "light globe" in the antipodes, while very small, is nevertheless 3 times more likely (relative to "light bulb") than the very very small fraction over all internet sites.
BTW, I was shocked to see that the original post was very poorly/inconsistently punctuated. I suggest that instead of ending some bulb post count assertions with a period (or is that a dot or a fullstop or a full-stop or a full stop?), and some without any terminating punctuation, they should either all be ended with a ".", or else all except the last should be terminated by a semi-colon.
But having said that, I do not wish to disparage the original post which is a milestone on the glorious road to TTR250 enlightenment.

You too performed something of a faux pas, Brindabella.
Brian, you said (and I (re-)quote) "Anything missed?".
there certainly is something, and it goes right to the heart of the matter of life, the universe and everything.
The above word highlighted in red, being the start of a new sentence, ought to begin with a capital letter to be of acceptable standard.
Martyn
Thank you Martyn - it is by the accumulation of wisdom, and the attention to detail (such as provided by yourself), and the correction of seemingly trivial mistakes, that this great forum will become even greater (or should that be "greater", or "more great" or even "the greatest"?). However, I do take umbrage at your characterization of of a mere typo as a "faux pas", and further, I would say that you have jumped the gun, in "correcting" by capitalisation. The true correction is an ellipsis after the preceding quotation. Accordingly I have edited my original post. Additionally I quote the relevant part of the edited post below to save further confusion...

Just noting that Brindabella fits into just about every category above so maybe he could suffice for most of the those groups of people listed above? (particularly the group of 27 and 15 ). Just a suggestion
Thanks for sharing Brian, it was a good laugh.

1to post irrelevant info based on the experience that their father had whilst changing a light bulb on an aircraft.
1 to post irrelevant info based on the experience that they had at work while changing a light bulb on machinery.
1 to correct the irrelevant info.
2 to defend the irrelevant info saying that their experience with changing a light bulb on an aircraft was much like a TTR250.
1 to point out which parts of the irrelevant info are relevant to the topic and why.
Oh, don't forget the most important-
1 to post theoretical ways to change light bulbs but nothing that has actually been put into practice.
