Thank you....I experimented with alot of headlight assemblies and wasnt all that satisfied.  I finally ended up with this which is actually a stone guard and windscreen for a tenere 660.  I then played with ram mounts to create a forward horizontal and wherever there wasnt enough fastenening, I simply used uv stabilised cable ties.  Its been going for 8 months like that through off road and heavey mud.  I have replaced a couple of cable ties once but it seems to hold together pretty good.

Hey Phred ,

That looks well wicked looks like my mates Tenere 660 a bit, guard looks high enough not to clog with mud and it must give you a less drag on the road as opposed to a higher guard.Good work that looks really tidy.

Whats the gusr off?

Was it very hard fitting it.

Cheers'

Daz

Hey Daz...  The mudguard is off a ktm 250 Duke.  I found a balance of using a couple of points on the forks and then just added some heavy duty cable ties.  It took maybe 5 minutes to fit.  And yes the windscreen and the rock guard are off a 660 tenere.  They are fitted with cable ties as well, but it does the job.  I work in coms, so I have heaps of quality cable ties.  The setup is still going strong.  The only thing I have changed since this post is, I painted the screen a solid yammie blue. Hows your bike going?  I was following your apc rally thread, but you stopped?

Love cable ties, My bike is still putting a smile on my dial, I've only changed the light set up since the rally and the oil.
With dad duties and a knee injury I was under the pump, but it's all good now I've loaded up some vids of the rally. YouTube dazrsv1000 and you can see some vids off the little blue beast.
What's next for your bike?

The videos are fun mate. It looks like you had a good time! Im thinking of trying a simpson crossing next year. Camerons Corner- Lyndhurst-Marree-Oodnadatta-dalhousie Springs-french line-Big Red- Birdsville- home. Still checking it out. Like you say though, dad duties and the like. Gotta make plans far in advance. I think ive got my setup dialled but still tweaking. I might try one of Brians "shorty" exhausts. It does look like a space saver. Do you get to QLD very often?
