Yes a broken Numberplate, I am now going to work on my ratio of unexpected de-mounts to rides.. Currently its 5:3.... Though I am not sure how my mate managed to get his Honda into this posit...

Hi Guys OK got to 1993 OE not sure mileage as Im pretty sure the 660km on the speedo is wrong. When cold, if I stick the choke on and try to start the bike, it will fire up then die, now Ive found the way to start it is to keep choke off and twist the throttle a few times to pump some fuel in, do this half a dozen times...
We sometimes get asked by Raid owners about parts on their TTRs that may not be standard. Just found this pic to show what was on offer as extras. 1st pic is the front disc and fork guards. 2nd pic is a plastic rear disc guard. 3rd pic is the kickstart lever and mechanism. 4th pic is the oil cooler option. 5th...
Hi guys, I just purchased an 04 Ttr250. It hasn't been started for 9 months. When I brought it home thought it might be something simple but it won't start. It it started for a couple seconds once and the died. I have had no luck since. I changed the spark plug, put fresh fuel in, flushed a bit of the old fue...
Eyup fellow TTR people. I bought mine yesterday, not knowing anything about them, although now reading about it, it looks like it's going to be exactly what I want. I got it 'cos me and a friend decided to do a little green laning around Derbyshire, on a budget. He set the budget at £830, by going and getti...
so as iv heard the exhaust studs are prone to rusting. i acquired my bike over a year ago and have stripped it down resprayed the frame, stripped the engine top to bottom and now its all back together woop ! except when taking the exhaust off, first thing i did was snap one of the exhaust studs off !! argg too...
Just wondering if I can lean the bike on its side and change the clutch plates without losing all the oil? Also is there a gasket needed? I have a 93OE and the manual I have is for later model, which does show a gasket. if necessary I can dump the oil and reuse but if possible would prefer not too. This techni...
My TTR is standard but i have a new FMF Powercore (with db killer) , it came with the bike. I'm thinking of fitting it and opening up the airbox and fitting jets to suit. Maybe i'll also get the short header pipe. I'll still run it in standard form for the next few months before deciding to do the mods. So,...
Brother Trev's TTR is getting more attention than my own! Trev had a nice old-fashioned looking analogue clock that he wanted fitting but we struggled to find somewhere appropriate that would take the fitting supplied. Final (until further notice!) position agreed as below
A few pics of some 6 hours of Green laning fun from today... Started off Elnor lane/Long lane, Buxton old Road, Cumberland Cottage, Tagsclough Hill. Then Three Shires Head Then had a Cup of tea and one of the Best pasties I have ever tasted at 'Flash Bar Stores' Then to Tenterhill, Washgate lane, Coatst...
Wanted: I have grown a real affection for the TTR250 and would like one to keep in fine fettle for posterity. I am after as close to mint as possible and if you are looking for less than 2k it's probably not for me. I want to keep it in excellent nick so as close to standard as possible and not restored (no pow...
just installed a new chain and drive sprocket on my 2000 TTR250, i adjusted the chain as per the manual with it up in the air on a stand so the front and rear tires hang free and the adjusted the slack to about 1.65 inches up down movement, set the bike down and ride around and it just seems like it has a t...
This the second time the dip beam has gone on my TTR OE. What are my best options (the cheaper the better). I would like a more powerful light if it is possible with the standard electrics as I use it all year road. Tbh the original is p#ss poor
Hi all. I bought a new old stock TTR250 from a dealer in the UK back in 2007 and had it delivered to my home in Spain. I think it is a 2006 model year, maybe 2005. I rode the bike for 66 miles and changed the oil and filter and then put it on a lift stand in the garage where it has remained for the last 7 years. I di...
hi just a quick question should my main jet or my pilot jet be fully tightend in carb or should they be unscrewed slightly ....... im a complete novice working on a project bike
Hi everyone. I've putting together a 2002 ttr250 that I bougut in pieces. I've got a genuine service manual and I also refer to partzilla for assembly of the engine. Has anyone experienced parts that Yamaha have "thrown in" to keep it interrsting? For example the oil pump is pictured with a...
I bought a used 2006 ttr250. Bike looks like it is is phenomenal condition very little case wear marks engine looks clean, took the tank and seat off and cleaned out the carb all look practically new. Problem I am having is that the bike starts up fine with choke runs great for about 20 minutes then just d...
Great postings lately, from Dorset to the Mediterranean to Oz, amazing. The US west coast is in the middle of a terrible drought, so we've hung up the skis and got out the bikes. Below is gopro of some single track at Cline Buttes outside of Sisters, Oregon. High desert juniper forest lava flow...
As the frame on the OE is in a poor state I have decided to tear the bike apart once the salt etc has gone from the roads, I can then use the Tuono daily. I am thinking of doing the frame gloss black and maybe the same with the swing arm also. The main concern I have are the nuts/studs which hold the header pipe on...
The main reason I have spent time with my brother over the last couple of days was to help him put up shelving in his new garage to get best use of the space. The photo shows how far we got. He still has a small Dexion shelving unit to put in the RH corner but it's already looking good. His hobby is building com...
