Little ride out

Had a little ride out with the dirty commuter today just the two of us on the Devon lanes close to Crediton for a pre dinner run I was trying a new setting on the headcam one pic every other second we did 14 lanes an Oly had a had his first taste of the lanes close to home on his TTR I was showing 45 miles round trip when I pitched up back at home after a cracking ride. sorry to say the head cam locked up after the first half hour so lost near all the shots but hears a hand full from the start. spot the Duck that flew along side my handle bar end for 20 yards which was unreal at the time

Think I might do random head cam pics on my next ride.

A lot of owners forget that there cams do stills as well, you get a lot out of a single battery charge

BTW Pug, sometimes these little cams will lock up if your video card isn't fast enough

I've never had my GoPro2 lock up as I always had a class 10 card, but did have a cheap Chinese one give me some grief from time to time

also check your battery compartment, sometimes a slightly loose connection can cause a shut down

Yep i was a little pissed to lose the shots but it was more down to me i did not check it at all after we set off i have had it over 4 years it's an older Tachyon cam the norm is start it running on vid an it just run's till you stop it 16g card will do near 8 hours an the batterys 8-9 hours so run' for the day just leave alone. it lay's the vid down in half hour blocks in HD on the card it took about 2400 shots had put down one block of 2000 and was 400 in to the 2nd and stopped it looks like the batterys failed it was new out the packet as it runs on 2 AA batterys thats why i got it in the first place no crappy have to recharge only last 2-3 hour need 2-3 of them for a days riding batterys. will just have too make Oly redo the run all over biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Crickey, 8-9hours, I'm lucky to get 2 hrs from the GoPro, even on 720p at 60fps you only get a couple of hours,it makes nice video at 60fps but chews through the batteries and memory cards

I can plug it into an external pack or a power outlet but the cards are the problem, i would like a GoPro Black, 2.7k at 120fps is pretty awesome but there wickedly expensive, $600.00 plus

then you have to feed them 64g class 10 cards or better no

Cheers

Steve

Yeah my drift only really runs for a few hours, but thats at full 1080, I have a spare battery that I keep in my wallet. I have a class4 card I think but 30 minute video are more than enough for me.

It runs at 720 30fps max it's a old model see hear www.tachyonxc.ca/tachyonca-2011xchd.html it says there around 6 hours on good make batterys but you will get 8-9 out of energizer lithium batteries there new stuff looks good as well but it's fallen into the same trap as the GoPro battery wise from what I can see. would be nice to find a 2nd old one as it's mount will take two cam's and film 3d as well. hears a clip of the old thing I keep a leg over the first summer I had the cam www.youtube.com/watch

link to the new stuff
