Off up Yorkshire tomorrow with some TRF lads. Took the TTR out for its maiden voyage today round some local lanes. Chuffed to bits with it.

Well done, but it looks like your engine's running a bit rich judging by the exhaust in pictures 1 & 2. confuseconfuse

Actually got a carb kit on the way as the float bowl gaskets leaking a smidge and I thought I'd give it a bit of a fettle while it's off. Bit smokey for a few seconds on first choke/ warm up but after that it's nice. Pulls well, idles well, seems spot on. Not been run for a good while, can't tell though.

Nice looking bike there mate, I could do with some stickers like that, but best wait until I don't fall off as much!! I just joined the TRF this evening, waiting for membership stuff, I think the lancashire group in Ashton is the one I'll be going along to, living here in Hazel Grove :) I am curious, What lanes are you on there?

Some of them puggles were deeper than they look and that poop were nearly mine a couple of times wink Saying that, it flew there along in 3rd, very stable.

The lanes are just some old pit tracks inbetween Boothstown and Astley, nothing special just nice for a quick blast.

Saw something about a key getting lost on here this morning while looking for something else. Handy spot right near by.

Good evening with the lads in Richmond last night. Out early today, everything going well, if a little challenging in places. Rider and bike going great,,,,,,,,,,until we went snorkelling wink Me 75% under, bike about 90% under water. Dragged her out, plug out, kicked loads of water out, couldn't get what I assumed was the drain screw out [not familiar with it yet] so had to take the carb off, gave it a good shake to get the rest out. Got the filter as dry as possible, gave everything a good squirt of wd, boom back in the game. Wasn't quite as easy as that, but the whole of the bike was practically under water and for a bit I was worrying whether she'd start. Ran a bit ropey for a while and wouldn't idle, had me off again the bugger. Only turned out to be the tickover getting knocked whilst messing with the carb, soon sorted and bike back 100%. Remarkable machines. Sadly for me I banged me hip and it was cramping up and making it impossible to ride so I limped out half way through. Down but not beaten smile

Bad luck on the drowning Steve cry

Any water get into the oil?

It's important to be able to get that drain screw undone on the trails as it's a pain to get the carb out. See here

Advice to owners is make sure it undoes in the dry of your shed or garage and, if it doesn't, fix it asap!

Hope your hip heals soon.

Brian

Under water boulders should be high viz eh! The lad after me came a cropper too so it stopped me getting all the abuse biggrin

Ironic thing is, I think I've mentioned it earlier that, I had a carb kit on the way but it's 'somewhere out there'. I was going to strip it and give it a fettle as the float gasket was leaking a bit, I just whipped it up for now. She was running great before the off, I did have to take the air filter off as it was just too soaked and choaking it. After a few hundred yards she was sound again. I'll get it on the ramp and get it all checked. As daft as it sounds and after all that happened I think I've bonded with it today biggrin

Me hips getting better with every goal Utd get btw wink

Out of interest what's in the carb kit you ordered? I didn't know it was possible to buy one for the TTR confuse

Not 100% sure tbh I just asked for one. Maybe that's why it's 'out there somewhere' still biggrin

The usual minimum needed for a strip down where there is a bit of a leak is the float bowl gasket and the two small o rings by the diaphragm. Hopefully your diaphragm is still OK and not holed or perished.

Parts listed here. You need to move quickly if you want them in the post tomorrow!

Email sales@totally... etc with anything you need.

Cheers

Brian

Cheers, I'll have to give them a couple of more days though. It's ordered and on it's way but apparently stuck somewhere in courier land.
