Anyone got any experience of waterproof roll bags on here by any chance? I am looking at buying something to bungy onto my rack for a trip up to Scotland in June and there are lots available, but thought I would just ask for any experience before jumping in and buying. Thanks

I had an email from a lady customer in Australia this morning which included this little gem in passing:I am absolutely in love with my TTR and ride it not only off road here in New South Wales but also to work and back. I actually got knocked off it yesterday by a kangaroo but luckily I was only going slow an...
I recently replaced a solenoid that worked most of the time but occasionally would only click and not turn the starter motor. Being an inquisitive soul I took it apart to see if I could spot the problem. Nothing obviously wrong with the exciter coil and the "bottom" of the solenoid. The co...
The day was bright and sunny and we had a 10am start from Treens Motors, Crediton.Mounting the bike for the off, Oly says “your bikes dripping fuel”, so before the off we had to take the fuel tank off my bike as we couldn’t stop it, turned out to be split fuel pipe and a fuel tap that’s not turning off anym...
Last year I decided to sell my Yamaha TTR 250 due to lack of time to use it. Almost immediately I changed my mind and withdrew it from sale. However, almost a year later the bike hasn't been used, so I am reluctantly going to put it back up for sale. So, it's a 2004 TTR250, with 6300 miles on the clock, quite a...
New member here. Got a '04 TTR 250 for awhile now. Lovely bike mostly stock apart from exhaust modified by previous owner. Rust here and there but I plan on fixing that and doing some other mods . Will put some pictures up tomorrow.
wire colors don't match the wiring diagram so I'm having trouble figuring out these electrical connections. Restored this bike and it's been a while since I took it apart. Three connections, all under the gas tank near the top of the frame: 1: a ground connection that doesn't reach any obvious pl...
Tried to cross a mountain trail but the way was blocked by a fallen tree about a mile past the waterfall and I could find no way around it. 3 hours out in the rain riding the mountain tracks. I was out on my own and was thinking it would not be a great place to have a serious off
Going for a trail ride tomorrow - first since last October! Dug the 325 out, checked the tyre pressures - amazingly all still spot on, checked the oil - all good there, pressed the starter and she fired right up - proper job Checking her over and the RH footpeg support seemed a tad loose. Upon investigat...
Louie from Torquay is looking to sell his 1996 TTR250 because he just isn't using it. He reliably informs me that it is in really good condition and it certainly looks like it from the photo he sent me - copied above. It has 6 months MOT on it but no reason to suspect it won't sail though the next one. He is lo...
I am looking ahead in terms of my 325 build and realise that I don't have a kickstart lever for it. Does anyone have one for sale or know where I can buy one please? Many thanks Brian
Guys, Its the first time I am changing the chain and sprockets on the 4GY. I'm changing the gearing having read the posts on this forum. However, the front sprocket; is it a left or right hand thread? Ive knocked up the flange (insert own joke!) and the 30mm nut has to come off. The bike is in first gear...

Just spotted a TTR coming into Moffat from the Edinburgh road/Devils beef tub. Couldn't believe my eyes. Not sure if it was a 125 or 250, was in the park away from the road but it was a blue original decal number, looked good of course. Anyone's on here?

After a afternoon out on local lanes i notice the rear suspension has started to make a creaking noise ! Anyone else had this ? Also towards the end of the day i noticed a noise coming from the front sprocket area on de-acceleration, sounds like the chains hitting the sprocket cover but everything looks...
On the Devon TRF forum I found this post Holding a bike up for a puncturePermalink Having faffed around with sticks and even a traffic cone I saw this a couple of weeks ago and thought it was genius. Depending on wether it's a front or back.... lift bike levering against stand. Use 2nd bike as b...

Just out of interest my TTR has black rims it was registered in 2007, as I haven't seen another. Just wondered if there are many about? I assumed it's standard for the latter bikes.
