Just got a free 2000 ttr 250. Working on putting it back together. The guy i got it from took it a part and had the top end redone And broke bolts off. He couldn't put it back together. So now i have it. What to do now. New to dirt bikes but had road street bikes. What u guys think?
The major components missing look to be the seat and tank unless you have them stashed away. The original blue plastic tank can be hard to find but there are alternatives that will fit.
We are here to help when you have found out what needs doing e.g. what bolts are broken?
I have the tank and side covers. All broken bolts have been removed. Wating on rear motor mount and cam gear bolts. When that stuff comes in. Its time to see if the rings r ok And run this thing.

The TTR250 was sold as a purely offroad bike in the States. They have an odometer fitted rather than a speedometer. They don't have turn signals fitted and the wiring loom doesn't have the connections. Same with the rear number plate holder and light - it's not there.
Quite a few frame tabs not on the US frame.
Can't remember the other differences off the top of my head - sorry.
Thanks for the info. That blows balls! The u.s sucks now i have to make wireing harness and all that crap. Just so i can keep miles off my f250 diesel.
No i don't have to have them in indiana. It would be nice. Will right now it wont even turn the motor over. Starter relay was bad so i but a new one on and now starter works but wont turn motor over.
