Real small ride out I went out to do some of the lanes I missed last week and did not make it bike let me down on the 8th lane into the run just died on me main fuse popped swapped it out for the spare an that popped right away as well. so seat off head light off pulled all the wiring round nought to see popped 2 more that I had in my tool kit. [Houston we have a problem] so lucky I was going a down a lane at the time so coast it down to the end of the lane call international rescue like hell I can no bar's on the phone so have to walk back to the top of the hill to call. Thunderbirds give me an eta of one hour an true to there word he made it I gives him the heads up on what I have tried so far. so he pulls the wires a round the headlight pops a new fuse in and the bike fire's right up well he's feeling mighty ****y with himself so we put's it all back on the bike. only for it to pop that fuse when we turn the key after re-fitting the head light so all off it comes real hard look at the wiring cant see anything fit fuse bike starts. refit head light an seat bike still running so head home fast with back up man behind me for the first 10 miles back bike made it 20 miles home fine so will have too a give it a real looking over. an on a plus I will give the nice AA man the thumb's up as he found me in the middle of Dartmoor an did not take the piss out of me.
Was lucky 200-300 yards roll down hill to the black stuff but it makes you think about all the spots you would not want it to happen. problem comes when trying to tell someone on the phone where you are on a un-named un-classed back road and you cant get the satnav to give lat an long of where you are. I know it must do it's a memory map 3500 which is a hill walkers one as well. will have to have a good look into this as it's not going so happen again.
Brian will be looking into it Sunday it has to be up front or around the fuse holder it's the only things we played with will be looking hard at the loom as it passes under the bottom yoke top of the front mudguard. the bike has a alloy brace on the guard an the wire's are clamped tight under there but not pulling. I just hope I do find something or it will always be at the back of me mind it's going to do it again at the worst time.
