Waterproof Roll Bags
Permalink

Anyone got any experience of waterproof roll bags on here by any chance? I am looking at buying something to bungy onto my rack for a trip up to Scotland in June and there are lots available, but thought I would just ask for any experience before jumping in and buying.

Thanks

Hi Nigel

Ed Gold has got to be your man! Message him on Facebook.

He has just returned from the Algarve to Essex on his TTR250 -  1,500 miles door to door in 3 1/2 days! With lots of rain on the way so his kit is well tested!

Brian

There's a never ending list tbh and over the years everytime I go anywhere I always seem to need something different. I got some of this stuff last year to go to Picos with. It is top quality and what I like the most is, it's got loads of strapping points, and comes with loads of straps.

I got the tank/tail bag which can be shaped and made as big or small as you need. I strapped it on my Smt seat with the ferry overnight gear in. Trainers, shirt, shorts, wash bag blah de blah. I also got the 45ltr roll bag which is more than enough for a week or so's clobber.

Lashed down with these things.

What I found in the top end fill roll bags is that even though they say 40ltr, by the time you've rolled it tight it's only 30ltr.

I bought a load of Kriega stuff once but couldn't get on with it, but their small 1-2ltr pocket bags are ace.

They have been mentioned in ride magazine a couple of times. Its a great bag as locky says, thick pvc with welded seams, completely waterproof and the 40l one has strap loops, not that it is needed because the pvc is very grippy against the straps, bargain for £11!! i have made many a trip with mine.

The bag will close with the top folded down only a couple of times too so you keep your capacity, I have got trainers, towels, tools, and all manor of other hefty items inside mine.

I must admit I think that one is winning at the moment, great reviews and at £11 an absolute bargain!

When I have been on trips in the U.K, the 40litre lomo is all I need to take really unless i'm camping, two bungees across it on my cb1300 pillion seat and its done!

I like this type the best, easier to get to stuff in the bag

Then again I can get into my lomo bag whilst it is still strapped on the bike, because the entrance sticks out the side of the bike, when packing I just put the stuff that I may want to get to in last...

No mate, there are loads of big D rings either side and at the end. Loads of options for strapping it down and other stuff on it.

Well my Lomo dry bag has arrived and I'm very happy with it. I went for the 40ltr one mentioned by Pete and Locky, so thanks for the recommendation.
