few days ago when i was servicing it stripped the crank case thread and now theres only few thread left. i tried to retap the thread with my local mechanic but theres no thread left, the only option for him is to replace with a bigger size. next option for me is to order a tap kit from ebay. so i checked on boats net and this is the diagram i got and the part number is 91317-06020-00 but that part number doesnt specifically say the thread, pitch and length because it belongs to multiple bolts.
Just wondering why you wouldn't put a Heli-Coil in there ?, I had a stripped thread in one of the front axle fork bolts, dropped in a Heli-Coil and now it's as good as new
Hi Petenz, just curious but why you would advise a 1/4 UNC and not a metric thread ? Is 1/4 UNC a but bigger than M6 ?
Everyone is sure to have a M6 bolt somewhere in the shed
Cheers All
