I am under pressure to clear some room on my shelves so have reluctantly agreed to sell my collection of Trail Bike & Enduro Magazine (TBM) / Dirt Junkies mags. The May and October 2009 mags feature the WR250R. In fact the October mag asks if the WR250R is the best trailie ever See https://www.ebay....
Well, I am considering swapping the rear suspension and swing arms on my Raid and my standard TTR. I understand that the aluminum swing arm has a longer bolt. Not sure just which bolt. Since I would be swapping them I don't see this as much of a problem. Besides being lighter, are there any other bene...

Hi all I have had to re register on the forum, as not been on for sometime and lost my log on details. i had tried a more powerful headlight bulb, and when it blew, I noticed it had melted the inside of headlamp plastics. This meant i had to break the bulb holder to remove it. this is why I require just the bu...
WANTED- Headlamp bulb holder for blue model If anyone has a smashed or rusted out headlight, all I need is the bulb holder, as due to trying a higher wattage bulb has melted and damaged the internal plastics, and I had to break the bulb holder to get the bulb out. -- Edited by DaveC on Friday 14th of Feb...
So I decided to clean out the warning lights on my raid as the neutral light was quite dim and hey presto all the bloody bulb holders promptly fell to bits Any clues on replacing them? Cheers, Brad
Just back from a few hours in the forest still a few fires around it's spring and have had fires for three months now. Stopped and took a pic kind of shows how dry it's getting. Hello again.I'm preparing the bike for the new season and i'm about to order tires. Other people that ride in Greece recommend Dunlop, a d952 in the front and a d606 in the rear. I have searched the tire threads and i think the D606 Rear 120/90-18 65R will fit (chain adjuster is on number 8). I'm not sure h...
Hi there, I have searched for my problem on here and found a few comments within a different (unrelated) thread and thought for future reference and people it would be useful to have a separate dedicated thread. When starting my bike recently I have had a few loud bangs, once running the bike is fine. I...
So there I was, bike wheeled out from hibernation, started fine, (thanks Optimate) warmed up all ok. Wheeled back into garage while I decided on my outfit Back into garage, horrors Big puddle under engine, gunge from bash plate with a decided petrol stink. Much dripping from carb. Fuel line had a nic...
Ok everyone, I have finally nailed some proper good exhausts They are being made up for me by Phoenix exhausts in Devon, same as the shorty header pipe. Now they have been road tested and no re jetting is needed for standard TTR, just plug and play , Keith who was testing it liked it so much, he bought it! I...
This little tank arrived from India (via eBay) this morning. I am going to use it to test carb float levels and for leaks BEFORE putting the carb on the bike and save myself possible hassle I am also hoping that it'll save the inevitable spillages that occur whenever I try to do anything involving petr...
Or, to ask the question in a different way, does the bolt go in from the RHS (exhaust) of the bike or LHS (chain/sprocket side)? The manual shows it both ways
Caught up with my brother and nephews last weekend rode three days took the ttr out one day and the Dr two days the young guys were stuffed I didn't admit I was running on Panadol and coffee Was a great three days
Hi, So I am a bit of a mechanical newbie (first post here too). I have a TTR250, but it stopped running. So I decided to try and clean out the carb as the first thing I've ever done to a bike (or even a car). Seemed to go alright, but after putting it all back together it has started leaking petrol out of the brea...

Hi all. I now own a 1996 ttr250 and I really like it. I do have an issue with it tho. There is a black plastic sleeve that connects the carb to the head. I've noticed that it looks perished and bits falling off it. (On the head side) the engine ticks over okay but eventually it will make a big POP then cut out. I'...

as my bike is fairly new to me the previous owner cobbled up a rubber flap type thingy bob to protect the rear shock which worked fine until the fitting of a new ac10 tyre which after a ride in the peak district is now destroyed, my question is can you get a replacement or is it a Yamaha part only ? Ive tried pol...
The fork legs have been totally dis-assembled and the lower fork legs resprayed in hard wearing "wheel silver" All the parts have been thoroughly cleaned and are ready for re-assembly using a fork and dust seal kit I picked up from Totally TTR Towers yesterday - see here - the kits will soon be back in s...
Hi, I am trying to put the settings back to the standard setting, and the rebound adjuster says it should be "9 Clicks out". I have got myself confused and now wonder which direction "out" means. Is it out away from the spring, or out away from the lower mounting? Sorry if this is yet another daft quest...
Hi, The TTR was never a bike made in large numbers, therefore the availability of parts is not great. Over the last years i have been always looking for some other yamaha machine that could share the same engine, and therefore possibly extend the sources for parts. It seems like i found it! Found a yamah...
