Hello my name is Tony from East Sussex, I am new to this forum so bear with me, I have just brought a Yamaha ttr250 eo 94.need help already ha ha!!
if there is anyone out there that can help me, I have just brought this bike two weeks ago, everything is fine, it starts up five to ten seconds with choke on, from cold, then switch choke off and idles perfect revs up perfect, but when the bike is warmed up and I’ve ridden for about ten minutes, I found that when I ride on a duel carriage ways and flat out for a minute or so The bike seems to die as tho it’s run out of petrol but within five seconds it starts up fine and revs perfect but as soon as I go flat out again the same happens, if I ride below 70 or flat out, everything seems fine.

would really appreciate if someone has advice or can help me.
thanks

Welcome to the forum Tony!
You only need to post once - someone'll be along soon!
Sounds like a blocked fuel cap breather to me. Try with the cap loose to let air get in when the fuel's being sucked out fast.
Ride safe,
Simon.

Welcome to the TTR Forum, Tony.

You're not the only TTR rider to have this sort of trouble and as Simon says - the most likely culprit is a blocked vent in the fuel cap.

Good  luck with locating your trouble.confuse

Welcome to the forum Tony biggrin

I think mossproof (Simon) is on the right track and it's fuel starvation. The bike runs fine until flat out when it empties the float bowl faster than it can fill up either from vacuuming (blocked filler cap breather) or, possibly, restricted fuel flow through either (or both) the tank or carb filters are partially blocked.

Seems like there’s a lot of people that own and like these bikes. This is the first 4 stroke bike I’ve owned. Been on two strokes all my liife. Just getting to an age that I needed something that’s abit easier to ride and didn’t fancy Ktm or husky I like my jap bikes so hopefully picked the right one! And give me something to do tideying it up
