Hello friends. Greetings from Devon. I am new to the forum but I am really looking forward to getting stuck in. I am looking to purchase a TTR 250 in the new year to replace my 2003 XT600 which I now find a bit to big both power wise and weight wise. My mind is still 16 but my body is now mid 50's and I need somethi...
Hi All I recently purchased a TT350 with the intention of riding some vintage enduros. Here in Victoria the Vintage enduro class is pre 1988, but the TT350 which was released in 86 is a flow on model that ran through to about 1999 in Australia, and all models are eligible. Mines a 97 and has been rebuilt...

I noticed the speedo cable was rubbing into the lower fork tube. I've put a bit of tape behind it to stop the wear The notch is pretty deep close to 80,000ks on it though
I have been asked a lot about this lately, so I thought I would re post my old solution to a cheap starter motor repair. Hi I have been doing a lot of maintenance on my bike lately, and have spent quite a few pounds. Now my starter motor has packed up, shredded gears, done the sprag and large idler gear, then...
Hi Guys, I have got an oil leak on my Engine and silicon cant seem to sort the issue. What do I need to replace? The top gasket only ? Also when I rev the bike hard, I can see smoke from the exhaust. What should I check for here? Kind Regards
Looking for straight frame with proper V5C. It can be a bike without engine, all parts can be removed, not finished restoration project or else. -- Edited by Konrad on Wednesday 9th of December 2020 12:09:18 PM
Hey guys, new here, been reading up on a few posts. I am going to look at a 2005 TTR 250 today, gonna possibly trade some stuff for it which would put me about $550 in the bike if I decide to trade. The bike is currently not running, owner said the timing tensioner failed, but was running last week, he said it h...

Is there anyone that could post a few pictures of wiring from battery to starter and solenoid ( I’ve looked at ttr wireing diagram and still a bit lost) before I put my engine back in bike I was going to try and clean up the wiring because it is in a bit of a mess there’s wires that hanging down that seem to do no...
I was cleaning up a clutch cover from a blue TTR and thought I would check the crankshaft end oil seal. I was surprised at how hard the seal material was and how worn the inside looked so I dug it out to have a look. The inner diameter measured just over 14mm and it fits over a 14mm end of the crankshaft so not i...
My boy came back from a ride ( private land) and said that the bike battery died witch seems mad because I’ve just fitted a new battery, starter motor, and sprag, because it started to bang when switching off engine, so today we had a look and when I put multi meter on battery it said 12: 7 v battery ok! So th...

I dont see chain tensioners on bikes anymore. My 1979 Yamaha TY 175 had one from the factory. Wondering why they have done away with them, is it because they have chain guides instead. Or maybe bikes these days have so much suspension travel that they wouldnt work and cause problems.
I have just done a bit of research for a customer so thought I might as well share the information and maybe there are owners on here that can add to it or correct it - please! The only big-bore kit I have found for the TTR250 is from Thumper Racing in the States - see http://thumperracing.net/index.php?r...
Replaced another set of wheel bearings. They were a bit reluctant to come out and the spacer got a bit messed up. Leaving it a tad shorter than it should be I went to order a new one but it's a three month wait Over night I've tidied the end up and but a bit of metal putty on the end now all good until the new one...

I want to convert my busted digital speedo to mechanical unfortunately dt125 hardware are not locally available. What I can get is a TW200 head unit and drive gear. I can also get a drive gear for YBR125. If I'm not mistaken the drive gear on the TW200 and YBR125 are on the left side whereas the ttr250 has i...
I had to reset my Trail Tech speedo recently and have the options to enter some indication points for high rev range during gear changes. I've had a quick search but didn't find anything conclusive. It has the option to flash LED lights to change gears. Has options for High rev range and Danger. Any idea...
Hi, having just spent a fruitless search trying trying to 'Contact the Administrator' to unlock my account, after joining the forum and not receiving the confirmation email. Can you please explain in the application or put a link or something about how to do this. I have tried countless times and dou...
A mate gave me this tip and it seems to have worked! My airbox intake boot is a tight fit and it is sometimes difficult to get it to sit fully on the carb. One remedy might be (a) to find some pipe that is a tight fit in the mouth of the boot, (b) cramp it in tight. (c) pour really hot water over the boot, (d) pull ha...
