I want to convert my busted digital speedo to mechanical unfortunately dt125 hardware are not locally available. What I can get is a TW200 head unit and drive gear. I can also get a drive gear for YBR125.
If I'm not mistaken the drive gear on the TW200 and YBR125 are on the left side whereas the ttr250 has it on the right. Is this going to be an issue? I was looking at the YBR drive gear and it looks more like the one for the TTR than that of the TW's.
The digital speedo will detatch from it's base, leaving the warning lights. You will then need to modify the mounting somehow to accept whatever speedo you use.
If you have a year 2000 on front wheel it should have the speedo drive lugs to allow a mechanical drive to be fitted (there should be a lug on the right hand fork to stop the drive spinning but this is not too important) The drive should spin in a clockwise direction otherwise the needle will not move. I have no idea whether a DT or TW type will spin the right way.
If your front wheel doesn't have the right hub, I'm afraid you're stuck with a digital speedo of some sort, although some of the cheap chinese ones do seem (suprisingly) to work!

This is the right sidenof my hub. Still waiting for the parts to arrive. I will keep everyone posted.
OK. I think that should work. Check that the spacers are correct before you do it all up tight.
