Hello friends. Greetings from Devon. I am new to the forum but I am really looking forward to getting stuck in. I am looking to purchase a TTR 250 in the new year to replace my 2003 XT600 which I now find a bit to big both power wise and weight wise. My mind is still 16 but my body is now mid 50's and I need something that isn’t trying to tear my arms from my sockets all the time. Anyways I shall be doing my research on this forum and probably will be asking a few questions to help me in my search so I may hear from you later.

Hi hope you find a one  soon. Theres pleny for sale over here in Australia not any good to you though. 

I made the change from the big xt to the ttr. And it's great everywhere . Easy to work on and if you keep on top of the regular maintenance easy to own

Welcome to the forum Chris!

TTRSteve and his wife Lisa run an online shop from Hatherleigh selling just about every new or second-hand spare you would need for a total rebuild plus a wide range of after-market accessories. Steve's base is known as "TTR Towers" biggrin

Hello Brian

 

                                    Thank you for the information. I am not all that far away from hatherleigh. I work for south west water and our training facility is in hatherleigh so a small world indeed.. Just one more question if you don’t mind. I have only just made up my mind to go for a TTR 250 so once I let my XT 600 go I will have some cash burning a hole in my pocket. Are these bikes super rare or do they come up for sale a lot. I think I will most likely have around £2000 but I could go to £2500 at a push (that push would be my wife throwing all my belongings out the bedroom window as she only thinks I am selling my XT) it’s weird but I completely forgot to tell her I was buying another bike. I am hoping it will work along the same lines as fetching a puppy home...once its home everyone loves it and it just has to stay!

£2,000 should buy you a really nice example with a good engine and needing no work at all - just get on it and ride wink

£2,500 should buy you a low mileage minter both mechanically and cosmetically biggrinbiggrin

I have found over the years that it's a good policy to buy the best you can afford.

I don't know if this one has sold - https://ttr250.activeboard.com/t67042842/2006-blue-ttr-250-for-sale/ - if not, might be worth a look.

Try putting up an ad in the Wanted section perhaps?
