I thought I would share this picture with people as it is the first time I have seen it (I have been on here a year roughly). All credit to Brian for doing such a great job (as usual). Just finished refurbishing a 1...
On the exhaust side. Side cover and battery cover there is a silver sticky tape shielding protecting the plastic from melting.. Sort of like the material Dr smiths space suit was made of in the show lost in space. Without going to Mr Yamaha and paying a fortune, is there anything you guys have used to giv...
I bought a few crates of TTR parts last week and in amongst them was this generator cover. I have chipped off the Chemical Metal so that the damage is obvious. Got to be about the worst I have seen

Hello fellow TTR riders, After fitting the main nozzle from an old 4GY 1994 model I thought it was only ''fitting'' to take it for a test run. Let me tell you- doing this has made the performance much better and the O-ring fitted makes it a lot ''smoother''. Here is a vid of the test run... [video=http://...

This would have been asked before I guess but here goes. What engine oil seems to work in the TTR ? I had been using a racing 4T (maxima) oil in the XR & never had a problem, been thinking about a semi Syn oil 10w 40, I'm using the same in my Triumph's but they ask for a semi syn oil so I'm using 10w 40 Maxima. ...

Some times when I turn the ignition on and press the starter button nothing happens except a clicking noise, which I presume is the solanoid throw in, if I put in gear and turn the engine over pull in the clutch and press the botton it fires up, It doesent do it all the time, ut too often for my liking.
Can't believe Yamaha dealers. I have dismantled my carburetor after years of not riding the bike. The o-ring on the main nozzle was deteriorated and fell apart in my hand. So off to the local Yamaha dealer to get an o-ring ( nozzle is fine just needs a soak to clean up ) Dealer informs me that you can not j...
