How does it cut out, completely? or intermittent? Does it have spark when it ''cuts out''?

First thing that comes to my mind is a crack or fault in the ignition coil.  Also a cut wire could do this as after a while of heating up the cut wire will separate from the power source.

Let us know anything relevant to the problem and try to describe it in as much detail as possible and we may be able to help.

Or a blocked fuel cap? Check the breather on the cap is letting air in.

As Brian suggested it could be fuel related as well.

The other thing that springs to mind is a blocked pilot circuit but that would cause over-heating along with a bad idle.

Is there any other symptoms that are relevant?

Mine done this from new.

The breather valve on the black pipe fuel cap was wrong way around hope its that simple for you.
