I've got a 2003 ttr250 Enduro . I brought it knowing in had a few problems. Now it starts on the buttom and runs sweet . But when I push the kick-start over there's a nasty grating sound ? Any idea what it could be ? I've not riden the bike yet so can't say if the gearbox is the problem ? HELP
This is a bit of a long story, but hopefully someone can see what I am missing…… Two years ago, I was given a 2006 TTR250 for use as an instructor at an off road school. It was a perfect bike spending 50+ hours a week teaching novices to ride - competent at everything and comfortable for my old bones! The bik...
My mission for this year is to sort the crusty frame on my OE, I'm going to powder coat but I'm slightly unusual in actually liking the purple rims/bars. I don't think black will work with purple & white so was thinking of going for white. I've seen the great photos of other projects like the red/whit...
Hi All new member to the forum and looking for help. I am based in Southern Spain not far from Malaga so still enjoying the winter sun although not as much as I had hoped. I have a 2005 TTR (blue) which I have had for a few years now, only has 10k kilometres and has full Yamaha service history, the last one wit...
Hi all, just saw this photo of Geoff Ballard with the tyre changing tool ( I have one as well ) and in the background is his TT250R. Some of you may have heard of Geoff, loved his TTR & also raced XR's for years as well.
I find the stock brakes terrible compared to what I’m used to whst are upgrades anyone has done? i going to be doing a yz250f fork upgrade later on in the year & going to run yz250f full brakes with the larger gytr disk, has anyone put yz250f brakes on stock ttr forks? & any options for rear upgrad...
My cam chain sounds like it's become loose (clattering, not as crisp as before). Is there a thread about checking the automatic tensioner? Can anyone advise me on this? Thanks
Hello Board Members, our 1999 TT-R250 has a WR250f fork mounted. This conversion seems to work great, but the bike is to be lowered and therefore I would like to know how high it is in the front at the top of the steering head and in the middle of the handlebars with an original fork. That would help me to k...
Evening, Has anyone used a different cage/support for their air filter. I have a 93 OE Not keen on spending the £50 for an original Yamaha one. I have seen some plastic cages on the internet but I'm not sure of these are for a Blue TTR? Anyone out there with a Open Enduro using a different cage?
As per the title looking for a genuine OE air filter cage. Don't really want to be paying £50 for a new one. Any second hand ones out there? Also what other supports/cages do people use in their bikes if they don't have the original? Cheers

Looking for a mounting kit for new Acerbis XR250R tank to 2001 TTR250. I haven’t had much luck finding anything, any help or info would be greatly appreciated!
Hi guys, I'm Jeff, new to this site, and live in Colorado. Looked through some Threads, and looks to be a great bunch here. Our family rides quite a bit here, so we ended up with this 2005 TT-R250 that no can get to run, so I think I'm going to monetize my investment, and start parting this thing out. My plan i...
A long shot I know but the blue tank I got for my 350 project bike is missing the strap, strap retainer and its screws. Does anyone by any chance have the parts and are willing to sell to me in the UK please? I know there are a few owners who have had the misfortune to have damaged their original tank so might ha...
Having fitted the 50mm lowering link I’ve come to the conclusion the stand now needs shortening, anyone who’s done this how much did you shorten it by, I’m thinking that as the bike had a tendency to lean quite a lot as standard maybe removing 25mm would suffice rather that 50mm, if I put some 25mm pieces...
Did over 100kms of bush riding today (I didnt gps record the first section of about 30km) with the brother inlaw - we are both pretty knackered now but plan to hit the tracks again tomorrow morning :) Im new to dirtbiking but Im giving everything a go, my brother inlaw is a much better offroader so I try to w...

Hi all its me again needing help. Is it nessasary to use a tourque wrench? I have on thats not up for the task nor the fittings i have and i am wondering if i should wait until i have one? Thanks
So I finished my bike got it MOT’d serviced and new clutch and got it the way I wanted it, gave it a clean, parked it up safely in the garage then left to go to work for 2 weeks. Came home to find out my brother had it out, which isn’t an issue but he left it behind my dads van and he backed over it, bending the frame...
Google translator-- After six months of various repairs, repairs and adjustments, the bike moves beautifully. There was a new piston, cylinder, head repair new carburettor and other caresses. Now I am slowly refreshing my skills because I have not traveled for over 30 years. I am very happy and gr...
