Oil consumption RAID 94
Permalink

good evening I'm in need of advice on what might be affecting oil consumption on my '94 raid. when I put it to work it doesn't smoke, every now and then when I accelerate it sends out a "jet" of smoke. What could be causing the excessive oil consumption? thanks

Sorry to hear of the problem cry

If your engine is using oil and smoking whilst running then it usually caused by worn rings or a damaged piston or barrel.

Are you able to do a compression test to check?

Thanks for the reply Brian. maybe it's really the valve seals, the bike was stopped for a long time and I've read somewhere that if it's stopped for a long time the seals get "rigid" and let oil pass. No, I can't test it. I'll start with the retainers...
