thought i would take the air box off and was a little pool of a runny oily substance and smelt of petrol too that came spilling out any cause for this?
Hey Guys, Have read with interest the exhaust mods from Linearprojects however as I don't have a welder I may have to go for an after market exhaust. While registered my TTR is trailered to our ride spot up in the mountains so I don't care if it's loud (in fact loved the deep throaty sound of that TTR from th...
Hey guys, This is a recent weekend trip myself (on my TTR) and some mates (on other bikes Yamaha DT 200, Honda, BMW) made recently. 2 warnings, one for language and the other for boredom as although it was fun for us I appreciate it may just be boring for others (although broken up into 4 parts the footage...
Hey guys. I acquired my 03 TTR 5 years ago from a friend who bought it new, but hardly ever rode, cleaned, or maintained it. I ride it hard, and always do a good job of changing the oil and filter, cleaning the air filter, and I clean my carb about once per year. But the bike has never had any major maintenance...
Just to say a quick hello from Hereford. I am on the look out for a TTR, I was after a Serow or DR350 but having swatted up on the TTR I think it's the way to go. I need a occasional commuter which I can trail /green lane on weekends. (when not riding trials) I ride trials at present so trail is another string to t...
Hello all, Had a real treat in Southwest VA this weekend, sunny and temps near 60*F. What a difference a year makes. Last year two days before Halloween we had a foot of snow. Anyway, it was a good day for a ride. My son and I dropped trailer at a newly opened trail system that's close to home. It's call...

Damn I hate having a cold! (or just a reaction to my flu shot a week ago) Nice Rack ey? 316 Stainless, 10mm round. Good fun fabricating it although I did find that the bracket on the right hand side of the bike was actually holding the tail of the bike together due to a cracked frame!.. My poor baby, what have...
I already know my new ttr needs a sprag clutch and a top end rebuild as it smokes but after washing it for the first time (it was dirty when i bought it) i found a big crack in both the RH crank case and clutch cover which have been repaired with tiger seal (4 inch half moon shape crack in the crankcase looks li...

Just thought i'd let everyone know what rear sprockets interchange. The front (as far as i know) is not interchangable with anything as the TTR-250 front sprocket has a built in collar whereas the others have a separate collar. I have found front sprockets that fit the shaft but whether or not this wou...

Does anyone have an idea how much performance improvement you get by fitting both a shorter header and a Morad pipe? I think the Motad gets you about one more pony, what about the header combined? I'd like a bit more torque and am wondering if changing the pipe and header is a worthwhile step forward or w...
Hi I'm now looking for an 18T (420) sprocket to fit my 1994 Raid. Does anyone know what Yamaha (or other) sprockets will fit the Raid - I'm not sure what pattern will fit? Thanks Pete
The following text and pictures are copied from my resto thread here. The chain I use is a Renthal R3 116 link so it needed to be shortened for the 13/48 sprockets I am using. The front sprocket is 30mm and should be torqued to 110Nm or 80 ft lbs after fitting the two-use tab washer.First up is to work out ho...
Hi All. After a provisional "trawl" through the forum looking for a rack - I find that most posts refer to racks fitting the blue bikes. I'm after a rack to for a white bike. Do they have the same fittings? I have just bought a white TTR unseen and it hasnt even arrived at mine yet, but One thing...
Well nothing like a naughty few hours in the garage. I have lubricated my rear end Greased my nipples and ended with a good bounce on the springs The end result to all this foolery is I think my ring needs tightening Now here is what really happened, I greased my spindles, got the grease gun out and fill...
