No i havent got a loud clonk biggrin but got a spare with my new bike as it was changed as a precaution and just took the flywheel and crank out of whats left of my old bike (its quiet at work today !) so i now have another functioning but used sprag

 

I can post pics but both only turn one way on my spare primary gear and both show no signs of wear on the bearing (rollers) and both cages are complete (ive heard of some that fall apart when taken out)

 

So are they worth keeping as spares ?

first image shows the extortionate price of £162 he payed from a dealer three years ago bleh

Hi Chris

Tricky question as I have had noisy sprags that, when removed, didn't show obvious signs of wear confuse

Have a look at Adrian's web page here and scroll down where you will find a pic of an obviously worn sprag to give you a starting point.

I would say that they are worth keeping as spares but it is unlikely you will need them if your TTR has just had a new one fitted.

A very interesing read ,mine have no flat spots like that but like you say i shouldnt need them anyway ,il put them the drawer for safe keeping
