Hi everybody, I am the new owner of a Yamaha TTR250 2006 model, and as such I am a new member to this forum.
Unfortunately, I've been having a string of bad luck, this includes me dropping and breaking my bike just 1 week after buying it.
I managed to find the pointiest pokiest rock in the bush and then high side my bike right on it, cracking the cylinder head cover,
and with that movement I managed to break what the Yamaha Service Manual calls a "Camshaft Cap"
Here are some pics:
And what mine now looks like:
This is a problem, this part is unlisted and when inquiring at a local Yamaha shop I was told "Bad news, you'll get a free head with that"
Is there anybody out there who can offer a solution? Perhaps someone with a wrecked top end laying around, or if anybody knows if this is a common part among other models?
I am on the search for one through all the local and not-so-local wreckers, but it's not looking particularly promising.
Thanks for reading, and I hope somebody can help me!
Looks like they gave you the old ''ya have to buy the whole assembly line'' which is actually true this time. The bad news is, they only sell the camshaft caps as a complete assembly.
The good news- I have one here for $20.00 posted (inside Australia) that is in good condition and ready to bolt on (pictured below). It should be in your mailbox by next week.
If you are interested PM me and we can work something out.
Jarrah
