Just picked up a 2006 TTR250. Live in Castle Rock CO, Elevation 6,500 - 10,000 depending on riding. Already gathered tips on jetting. Took out snorkel and baffle. Jetted to 135 main, clip one from the very top. Had FMF pipe but was way too loud. Sold on eBay. Suspension feels a bit soft, I am 6 ft, 1...
In May 2012 - I know it's some time ago and history - Brian and I took Bouncing Bob out after some winds and rain to look at the lanes. We found a few trees that had been blown over and a few lanes that were a bit worse for wear. There is a dead end lane in Devon which is renowned for a glorius view from a hill top ove...
Hi Just joined the forum, seems a great place of like minded people. I've had my 05 TTR250 for a couple of years now. Mid life crisis thing, rode in my early 20's (XR200), had a break for 20 odd years and now back into it. Love my bike, ride mainly single trails in the bush around central coast NSW. Has plenty...

Hi All Just discovered this forum and I'm impressed, so much good info! I'm about to replace the timing chain on my 05, the manual says to replace the sprockets too. Is it necessary, and do all 3 sprockets need replacing or just the top 2?
Hello fellow TTR enthusiasts! It's been a while since I posted but I had a question about my bike. I'm not sure if this is normal, or if I should look into it, but when the bike is in gear (engine off), there is about 1/4 - 1/2 a turn of slack at the drive sprocket before it is stopped by the stopped engine. This...
G'day All, I'm in the process of prepping my '94 Raid for a frame paintwork freshen up and noticed the left hand footpeg mount is welded to the frame and the right hand one is bolted on. Is this how they come from the factory? Maybe a silly question.......................thanks!

This is the start stripping and prepping, I don't know if any of you guys have worked on a big bike like a BMW, it's not as complicated as it looks just remember to take photos as you go, that way if you forget how it came apart you can always revert to the photos, that should apply to any project.
hi all just bought this 98 ttr in need of some tlc its all there from what I can see (apart of decals)rides nice only thing is its a little hesitant on the throttle under light load so thinks the carb may need a clean
Having been caught out by losing a split link on the trail a few weeks ago, I only just remembered to pack a new one in my tank bag before a trail ride on Tuesday. I find that the side plate is always a tight fit on the pins making it difficult to fit without a press when out riding so I always modify the spare I ca...
I have a bit of OCD and I like everything to be as good as new. I have so far changed my front mudguard and headlight surround. All I have left to do is touch up the frame and get both rear plastic panels and mudguard.Being scottish I grudge paying £80 per side pan and £90 for a rear mudguard. Why are parts so e...
It was (is) such a nice day today (now) that I couldn't resist a little "firkle" on my TTR. It was very bracing and the sea was dead calm, looking very inviting. I enjoyed it - must do it more. Martyn

Hello, I'm new to this forum but not new to TTRs. I owned two 93 - 94 OE machines which I sold a few years ago. D'oh. What a mistake, so now I'm looking for another. TTRs are like chocolate, once you've had one it's never enough.

Not a restore but getting a TTR back on the road. Well it was already on the road as I bought it with a new MOT. The bike has done 6000 miles of which 2000 is in the last 7 years. The last year the bike has done 100 miles and is kitted out for the lanes for which I intend to use it! As soon as I got it home oil was le...

The paint isn't the best as you can see in the photo's. Was thinking £50 delivered but open to offers. John [URL=http://s1224.pho...

G'day All, Just picked up a '95 TTR 250 Raid locally here in Sydney, Australia. Needs a little TLC but will be a cheap bike to get around on in Summer and can save the GS BMW for longer rides. It's an import and apart from being in need of a front brake bleed, and an ignition switch is in working order. The igni...
