Having trouble with my TTR again. I love her but sometimes I want to throw her to the scrap-man. After recently inadvertently putting diesel in the bike I have been having fuelling issues, I cleaned the fuel lines out, drained the tank and have cleaned the carb about 3 times. I can not see anything wro...

I have a carb that checked over fine. All jets cleaned or replaced, etc. However, there was an idle problem where on occasions the engine would run at a fast tickover and other times it would be OK. I know there is another post about these symptoms somewhere but darned if I can find it I took my own advice a...

Hi folks We are off to North Devon for a spot of well-earned R&R from lunchtime today (21 July) and back late on Wednesday (23 July) so please be patient if you don't get the usual prompt response to your emails Brian & Trish
Well its a 2nd gear slide. Blossom and myself had a beach ride at South Ballina beach. No permits required on this beach. The access tracks to the beach were boggy and i had to double blossom through them. The ttr was flat in 2nd gear and just made it through the boggy sand. A nobby tyre would have helped a...
My friend Andy (who sells the TTR chain sliders and shock top bush kits) needs a replacement exhaust for his TTR. Not one to take the easy route such as finding a s/h one, Andy has made contact with a few exhaust manufacturers with a view to getting a small batch of replacement exhausts made up. Only one ma...
Hello I just bought a 2005 ttr250 with a ffm pipe, an it is running me in circles. it has fresh fluids, new air filter an battery, the bike starts right up no problem but after about 45 min or so of slow trail riding it begins to bog out an dies. It will only start with the choke on an them idles high as the sky an...
Had the TTR out today on a group ride held by one of the clubs here. They basically come up with a route of legal roads/trails & provide you with a route sheet to follow. Today's ride was just under 100 miles; probably 20 or so of real trail (like the water crossing pic) mixed with dirt roads (primitive...
Hi I am selling my 3 meter hq beamer after £70 inc uk mainland delivery. Please note this is NOT a toy, it has had my 12 year old off the ground, great fun for the summer. Thanks for looking.
I would be interested in other owners views on the foam lining on the TTR's side panels. On a dirtbike, the foam is a PITA. 1. It is difficult to clean properly without power washing it - which requires taking the panels off. 2. It stays wet after power washing creating a moist atmosphere around the frame...
I am in the process of attempting to make my 2001 TTR street legal. Being a novice when it comes to electronics I thought I would ask for your help. I bought a hydraulic brake switch (for the rear brake). The original taillight has 3 wires blue, black, and yellow. The tusk wiring diagram was not much help....
Had a great family day out with the dirtbikes at Whimple MX track with brother Trev & partner, Tim & Mackenzie (5yo) & Alfie (4yo), bro-in-law Keith, Trish (Mrs TTR) and me. Bikes were 3 TTRs and a WR250R. Took the Bongo fully loaded with food and gear with 2 TTRs and a WRR on the trailer. Trev...
Hi all. I'm currently in Laos on my way to Europe and I'm having problems with the carb. I've got a 2012 TTR250 with 16000kms. The first and most common problem is when I climb up a hill or any incline the bike coughs and splutters like its misfiring or flooding. It happens at low/mid revs but at higher revs...
Hi, thought I'd add a couple of pics of the progress I've made sorting my newly acquired TTR for a bit of a Greenlaning fun. It's supposed to be a cheap project so this bike will have no-frills but I have spent money in what I think are the right places giving it a good service ect. I have replaced the swing ar...
It is with a heavy heart that I have finally come to the conclusion that I should part with my TTR, as I'm just not getting time to ride her, and I need the space in my garage . So therefore, I got her MoTed today and now she's up for sale - eBay listing here : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...
Ok seeing if anybody out there can help me get the brake light to work. So I got the bike and it never had the bulb fitting or wiring. So bought a light fitting which came with three wires. Ground, high and low beam pretty simple really. Now searched the bike for where to wires this thing into. Finally found...
I have come to realize that my rear shock is pretty worn. I was wondering if any of you knew of a reputable shop which can rebuild shocks in the US? Or does anybody know if I can buy a used one? I looked on ebay and didn't find anything there
