Just wondering if I can lean the bike on its side and change the clutch plates without losing all the oil? Also is there a gasket needed? I have a 93OE and the manual I have is for later model, which does show a gasket. if necessary I can dump the oil and reuse but if possible would prefer not too. This techni...
My TTR is standard but i have a new FMF Powercore (with db killer) , it came with the bike. I'm thinking of fitting it and opening up the airbox and fitting jets to suit. Maybe i'll also get the short header pipe. I'll still run it in standard form for the next few months before deciding to do the mods. So,...
Brother Trev's TTR is getting more attention than my own! Trev had a nice old-fashioned looking analogue clock that he wanted fitting but we struggled to find somewhere appropriate that would take the fitting supplied. Final (until further notice!) position agreed as below

Wanted: I have grown a real affection for the TTR250 and would like one to keep in fine fettle for posterity. I am after as close to mint as possible and if you are looking for less than 2k it's probably not for me. I want to keep it in excellent nick so as close to standard as possible and not restored (no pow...

Hi all. I bought a new old stock TTR250 from a dealer in the UK back in 2007 and had it delivered to my home in Spain. I think it is a 2006 model year, maybe 2005. I rode the bike for 66 miles and changed the oil and filter and then put it on a lift stand in the garage where it has remained for the last 7 years. I di...

Hi everyone. I've putting together a 2002 ttr250 that I bougut in pieces. I've got a genuine service manual and I also refer to partzilla for assembly of the engine. Has anyone experienced parts that Yamaha have "thrown in" to keep it interrsting? For example the oil pump is pictured with a...

Great postings lately, from Dorset to the Mediterranean to Oz, amazing. The US west coast is in the middle of a terrible drought, so we've hung up the skis and got out the bikes. Below is gopro of some single track at Cline Buttes outside of Sisters, Oregon. High desert juniper forest lava flow...
As the frame on the OE is in a poor state I have decided to tear the bike apart once the salt etc has gone from the roads, I can then use the Tuono daily. I am thinking of doing the frame gloss black and maybe the same with the swing arm also. The main concern I have are the nuts/studs which hold the header pipe on...
The main reason I have spent time with my brother over the last couple of days was to help him put up shelving in his new garage to get best use of the space. The photo shows how far we got. He still has a small Dexion shelving unit to put in the RH corner but it's already looking good. His hobby is building com...
do you tighten the rear wheel nut up to its specified torque or use a small tool kit spanner to tightening it up in case you need to undo it on the lanes?
