vibration
(Preview)
hi, I did a little off-roading today. When accelerating from walking pace in first gear, there is a noticeable vibration through the footrests which goes away as the revs rise. Anyone experienced the same thing ? any suggestions what to look at ? Thanks in advance

RAID rear shock adjustments query....
(Preview)
I have recently been bottoming out occasionally on the rear shock and believe the best way to reduce this is to increase the compression damping. As I understand it, this is normally very easy on a TTR, just requiring the hand rotation of an adjustment knob on the remote shock reservoir canister.......

Clutch friction point moves as the bike warms up....

Hey peeps The "new" ttr has something odd with the clutch. The clutch friction/engagement point moves from engaging when the lever is almost fully out to about the midway point once it is warmed up. Hi all, I am about to fit a first oversized Wossner piston but there are no instructions with the piston rings so I have a couple of questions. Can anyone confirm that the "chrome looking" ring is the top ring , and the dull grey ring is the second ring? Can anyone tell me what their end gaps should be? On th...

TTR250 burning oil
(Preview)
Hey Guys, new member here. Got myself an 05 TTR250 about 3 months ago and its got roughly 8500km on it. My issue is it seems to burn approximately 100ml of oil per 180km (1 tank of fuel). It doesn't noticibly smoke, however if I leave it idle then give it a rev I can see some bluish tinged smoke out the exhaust...

Con rod assessment question

Hi all, I am trying to re-join the fold. I haven't posted here for a few years now, but am now trying to get my blue tanked TTR back on the road. After getting a very low compression reading from my hot engine (90psi) I had hoped that a rebore and lapping in of the valves would be all that was necessary to reviv...

So my wheels have a number of holes in the rims. I assume for rim locks as I can't think of anything else. I don't have rimlocks but will the holes cause issues? Won't the inner tube try to get out? It hasn't done as I've pumped them up but i wouldn't want it to change it's mind at speed. If they need blocking u...

Oil visco ratings

So I recently did a service on my TTR after I bought it. The manual says 10w30 or 20w40, but I went with 10w60 (local motorcycle store is pretty high end so they mostly cater to hardcore enthusiasts). Is this ok? I've read on some online forums that it may cause more wear over time on low temps like at startu...
